Current enrollment at Eagleton is around 420 (per TSSAA classification). The max capacity of the building is ~700 right now. Unless they plan to significantly expand their space, I don’t see them moving above 3A. So unless the school system buys up a lot of surrounding residential & commercial land (which takes money & market value of houses is outrageous & likely won’t come down anytime soon), then I don’t see a 4A jump happening.  Hopefully for their sake, it wont even go to 3A, for the best academic & athletic success of those students. The Eagleton community and its demographic will best be served by a small K-12 school, which provides huge continuity for kids (that big schools don’t), throughout their entire school experience, which was the entire premise behind the decision to create ECCA in the first place. Good things happening at that school. Gonna be fun to watch!

Somebody tried to tell me that 420 was Blount's enrollment.

Eagleton’s enrollment is about 320. They approximated the enrollment for when they will have seniors next year to 420 for classification purposes. So, they are, numbers wise, a 1A school this year.

Did they just hire a new OC or just announce it yesterday? Seems kinda late to hire an OC. Eagleton tweeted that Scott Branton is their OC yesterday.

He's been there since Sevier County let out of school in May

In that case, Eagleton got hosed for sure. Good ole TSSAA.

Not really they did it to themselves for classification reasons.They are where the want to be.

Yes sir!The TSSAA had the right number because of that.There is alot wrong with the TSSAA but this wasn't one of them as a poster suggested. Thanks BBS!
