Plus, there is the ability to build up, or out. Plenty of room for growth… They have already started an addition to the the intermediate school, so it coming… What’s up brother? How’s Alcoa looking this year? Another championship run?

Just relaxing a bit before BC and I make the haul to Rhea County. We are looking pretty good. Ready for the season to start! If our studs can stay healthy, I think we make another run. Gonna miss a couple of our o-line after this year. Got one going to VT and the other one to Indiana. So, gonna try and enjoy each game. Wish Upperman the best! Us Goons will be keeping an eye on ya. Is that correct? If so which players were they. Can’t say as I blame them Upperman will compete for a state title this year while Cookeville will once again struggle to compete at the 6A level. Maybe the new coach at Cookeville can do what so many others have been unable to and that’s make them relevant for more than a year. I hope so it would be great for the community and the kids. Who are those 4 players? Dedmon, Rollins, Cullum, Harris were all on the team last year. I think it's more due to best player plays at UHS, not exactly so at CHS. The baseball team won state and like 12 kids had dads or cousins play on UHS title teams of the early 90s. In basketball, I seen more kids transfer to CHS from UHS than the other away around. Upperman looked good no doubt. Since I haven’t been keeping up with things like I used to over the past year or so is there anybody in the region that can give them trouble? Not unless lots of injuries happen to UHS. What people don't realize is UHS is Upperman, basicalky west putnam county hs....not Baxter city school. Lots of population now in west Putnam county east of Willow Ave. Lots of people with a Cookeville mailing address are zoned, when enforced, to go to Upperman. Cookeville is to populated to house every hs student in the city. So I laugh when I hear " they are stealing Cookeville kids" when Lots of Cookeville is zone to UHS. blueeyes
Putnam West=Baxter, Putnam Central=Cookeville, Putnam East= Monterey........I believe East can hang with West for a Half.

Cookeville is refusing saying they will forfeit before they play in Baxter. So, the game will be played at TTU. Also, this will be the last year for this game. Cookeville's decision; coach doesn't want to play Upperman anymore. No excuse for not playing. Cookeville needs to man up and play Upperman to much money for this game not to be played. I don't think so. Wildcats have a solid 2a team that could go far. But far to many weapons for UHS. I say score in the 42-7 and at best 42-14 type game. No slight against the wildcats. They cut the funding when built for other projects and never touched it since. Cookeville has 5× as many seats and turf. It's a joke what Monterey abd UHS get compared to CHS and both have better programs. Putnam needs to invest in a winner, or at least try and be fair.

Monterey Youth > Baxter Youth. Baxter will have to get help from Cookeville to Compete, and I think that Gravy Train stops for Baxter now that Cookeville has a young and upcoming Coach.
