Practice

Can schools practice now if they have an athletic period during the school day?

WestTN, not fishing this time. LoL.  Somebody asked me and I told them yes but I really don't know.  Seems like if it is a class then it's okay.  Most schools around here do it.  I don't have a kid in the fight anymore. So I really don't care.

The rule is no. Only conditioning and strengthening right now. But I think there is some kind of new rule where coaches can work with a certain number of kids per day during the off season. I think Maybe 2 for basketball but not sure.

I researched this a little this morning. Basketball can work with 3 players a day during off season.

 the southern middle tennessee area might not know about this three player practice rule

1. What is the penalty for being found guilty of practicing prior to the authorized start date?

2. When is the start date? October 15th?

1st date is Monday the week of November 1. This year it is October 31st.

The penalty will depend on several things.

1. Did you self report or did someone have to turn you in.

2. Prior history of cheating.

3. Severity of rules broken.

It could be a loss of the first week of practice up to no post season.

Hold on a minute. No practice until November and season starts 2 weeks later. You gotta be kidding. out of all the things I have seen on this board that needs change, that is the biggest one. How can a coach get their team ready to play in less than 2 weeks. The T$$AA has to change that. Heck, no wonder coaches are practicing.
