Curious to see the results of tomorrow's game between Brentwood and Summitt.

I agree it will be a tough game. These two have had some battles in recent years.. Honestly hasn't been terribly different from our series with Beech.

I wouldn't go that far. Brentwood has waxed Henry County a couple of times since they started playing again in 2015. But I do agree they've had some good games too, a couple of which have gone in HC's favor.

Most of the game was played 21-0 Brentwood with 1 min left to play in the 3rd. Rest of game will be played Sunday. Brentwood has a dominant defense.

This is true. I forgot how bad the 2020 game was and had to go back and look. I guess I had wiped it from my memory haha

They are always one of the 1 or 2 most physical teams on our schedule.

Interesting game. HC is supposed to be loaded with talent and experience. Brentwood's defense is one of the best in the state. Their offense isn't what it usually is because they don't have the passing game they normally have. I'm going to take Brentwood in a very close low scoring game.It wouldn't surprise me if I'm wrong. This is the year for HC to improve their not so good record against Williamson County Schools.

HC is definitely talented, but the lines have been a work in progress IMO. We do have an SEC commit at LT, but outside of that there's been a lot of mixing and matching trying to find the best consistent group. In time we will be fine, will probably even end up being a strength as the season wears on, but right now I would give the edge to Brentwood.

However, I also expected losses to Brentwood in 2015 and 2019 and was pleasantly surprised both times, so here's hoping for a trifecta.

2015 Brentwood was rebuilding so that wasn't a shock. 2019 was a shock. I think they're pretty close this year

I guess we’ll see. Brentwood has the 6A advantage, and they’re a decently successful program at that level. It’s a good game for us. Let’s us know where we are.

I think HC will show up well for this one. We need to see what kind of progress we’ve made since the Beech game.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
