Their offense is starting to click too.  West is not a bad team and they blew them out.  Hampton's d needs a challenge.  Thing is they could hold them under 30 and still lose handily

Our D will have a challenge this week, GP is well coached and know exactly what they are. We will have to play at a high level on both sides of the ball to hang in there with um. They give Alcoa a fit for a half. Was 10 to 7  with very little time remaining.

PUJO NIX JUST DON'T GO FOR IT 4TH AND 10. AND IF HE DID THEY WOULD GET IT MOST OF THE TIME. I THINK HE IS JUST RESPECTFUL. WERE NOT IN THERE LEAGUE. DOES PLAYING THEM TWICE A YEAR DOES IT MAKE U BETTER. NOT SURE.

Don't really do much for you, out of both our leagues.

What people don't understand is we are too small of a school and in a location where we are just not going to be a powerhouse every year.  Every group that comes through have different parents and those parents might be raising their boys different.  Alot comes into play when you're fielding a team at the 1a level

I agree with you,but I also think that some of the problem is the people moving to the mtn are retired, and have no connection to the school, and some but not all parents are raising their boys different, plus there are a lot more distractions

LOOKS LIKE HAMPTON MOVING UP. AND HOPEFULLY ALCOA GOING TO 4.

We were only three students away from being 1A last time. I'll always wonder if maybe we could have won a state championship last year if we would have been 1A?? We will never know. Anyway, just don't see us moving up to 3A???

Probably not since 1A was better than 2A last year.

Well Cloudland only lost to South Pitt by a touchdown last year and we destroyed Cloudland last year... just food for thought.

I wouldn't call it destroyed :roflol:You all were definitely the better team but it's not like you had a running clock.  It was 12-0 late in the first half.  With that said,  y'all would've won it hands down.  You were basically Cloudland on steroids.  South Pitt was way too small to deal with you guys

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
