Knoxville West at Powell

The defending champs host the Rebels on Black Friday for a chance to go to Chattanooga.

Powell has looked very good on offense since Potts returned, but I don't feel like Powell has a good enough defense to win it all again this year. West just looks like a Lex Lugar team ( the total package). 

I feel like this one will end up in the area of West 35 Powell 14

I'm with Dragon. Powell has found another gear on offense the last few weeks, but unless this turns into a shootout, I just don't think they are good enough defensively to beat West. 

Either way, looking forward to a great game!

This game will be the 1st real challenge either team has had since they played Maryville lots of running clocks and blowouts. Both will be tested West defense lost containment against Boone alot early in the game yesterday if they don't tighten that up Powell has the speed to make them pay for it with tds. Powell doesn't have big Walter this year so they better buckle up and get ready for some contact. I think it will be a close one rebels by a td.

Agree what West should win the game, but Powell's offense is just clicking right now.  Never say never, but I don't see West holding them to 14 points.  I could easily see a 42-35 type game happening.

West took one on the chin last year to a little 3A school on their own field. Will West keep Alcoa on the schedule after graduating 18 starters after this year? Probably not.

If last year's game was taking it on the chin - then what you call this year's game?  I just assumed it was two good programs battling it out it two very good games.  I guess I was wrong.

So, the question.....West was the team to beat the last couple of years...........BUT choked.

Will that football karma continue?

Not sure how we've been the team to beat last two years - but sure - we choked last 10 years and we can choke again this year.  But I do know one game this season when we didn't choke.  Is that what hurts you - losing to a bunch of chokers?
