Webb would definitely be my 1 team.  Upperman should be ranked higher and Cookeville should not be ranked and definitely not ahead of White County.  Cleveland and Coffee County would be a toss up but Blackman and Coffee play tonight should be a good game.

Coffee County loses to Blackman by 5 points.  They slowed the game down enough to make it a half court game but Blackman just has too much offensive power and good coaching to let that stop them.

I think the Warren County early season ranking was a favor to the coaching staff.  White County beat them last night.  Cumberland County is playing real well right now and beat Clarkrange while Livingston Academy beat Pickett County.  That district will be a beast and Upperman will have to show up everynight.

I am just seeing this thread and figure it's worthy of an explanation or two...

I am attempting to compile this weekly poll based on strength of schedule, win/loss, and over all body of work.

If a team goes out of state and loses to a top team from another state, or one of the top teams in the country, I am not going to penalize them as much as losing to an in-state unless it's a bad loss.

The in-state games and match-ups are easier to compare when doing a ranking like this. Webb is the most talented team in the state, and probably the country, but their loss to La Lumiere was a bad loss thus resulting in them dropping to #4. Warren County looked like a team that was primed for a huge season when I saw them this summer... now that the season is here, we see they're not quite what I thought they were. A good team, but not a top team...

I would be glad to come on here following the release of the ranking each week and explain why I've got teams in certain spots... or don't have them in certain spots. I may be setting myself up in doing this, but it certainly makes for conversation.

New TN Report Rankings dropped today:

1. Blackman                                                   11. McKenzie

2. Bradley Central                                         12. MTCS

3. Webb                                                          13, Cookeville

4. Bartlett                                                       14. Oakland

5. Coffee Co                                                    15. South Gibson

6. Cleveland                                                    16. White County

7. Jackson South Side                                    17. York Institute

8. Westview                                                     18. Clarksville

9. Upperman                                                   19. Greeneville

10. Ensworth                                                   20. Trinity Christian

I think the top 4 could be put in any order.  I haven't seen Coffee or Cleveland.  Cookeville and South Gibson probably ranked too high.

Greeneville only beat a bad McMinn Co team 62-60 and I would have Cumberland Co ahead of some of those teams.

No way Cookeville is even in the conversation as a top 20 team.

That will be a good game.  Has Cookeville played anyone outside of Blackman who beat them by 20+? I didn’t even recognize they were in top 20 and had no idea why?

Nahh we terrible….

What you think about SG now? Still ain’t really played nobody worth talking about…. But what are your thoughts?

SG is well coached team. Must of shoot 75 % from 3 point.  Dyersburg on the other hand is going through growing pains. If they can together will be ok

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
