I’m new to here and fairly new to OR. I realize that some random Maryville guy is  obsessed with our plight and thinks we are no longer relevant. However, I don’t think we’re desperate enough to need a Clinton coach.

Yeah, I don’t see OR going that route. That’s not to say that I don’t think he’s a good coach by any means, I just don’t see it happening. But hey, I could be wrong about everything. Nothing would shock me.

ForTheRidge. Kwayu Graham went to Oak Ridge High School and played football. Did pretty well at it also!

Also has head coaching experience at Austin-East and another school or two, whose names escape memory at the moment.

Seeing as you are new to the OR community, maybe brush up on a little OR football history. I would like to know the reason Graham left in the first place. I have a gut feeling that it has something to do with a “higher up” that is still involved. Swallow the pride and give the man a call. No reason he should be at Clinton coaching.

Touché. And that’s why I’d be surprised if he got the job, or even a call for that matter.

Barney is a good guy, and when he says OR is his 2nd favorite team, I think he genuinely means it. Lol

A whole lot of assuming goes on here. That’s fine; it’s for everyone’s opinions. It’s just that so many readers take that assumption, or a gut feeling, and state it as facts.
I guess I’ll just wait until it’s announced.
And if OR is so irrelevant why is everyone from everywhere so interested in this thread?

Wait, what?

I always figured Billy Blunt was Barn's back up school.  He often speaks so highly of them.

That's fair.  But using this season as evidence that you're in good shape doesn't make sense.  Sure you made the quarters.  You were also 7-6.  Yall fired the first year coach at the end of the season.  I'm still waiting on Gaddis to go full Bearden and just name himself as the replacement.

How is the non existent chance of Gaddis hiring himself going full Bearden as you contend?

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
