Week 3 predictions and no I will never pick against my Yellow Jackets!

Springfield 24 Henry County 21

Brentwood 34 Hendersonville 24

Columbia 31 Hunters Lane 10

Riverdale 27 Beech 17

Davidson Academy 42 Portland 20

2nd week in a row you leave me wondering if you know how bad Hunters Lane actually is… they’re not a 31-14 type of team lol more like 56-12

Several interesting storylines in the region this week. I'm curious to see:

If Beech can bounce back against another solid opponent.

If Hendersonville can hang with Brentwood.

If Henry County can show consistency.

If Springfield can show some legitimate improvement.

If Portland is a true contender for a playoff spot.

I'm gonna step on a limb and say that Brentwood is on a different level from most of the others, and they prove that again Friday night and beat Henry County by 10 or more. I do think Henry County has a good football team this year, I just think everybody is down playing how good Brentwood is.

I agree with this

I don’t think it’s downplaying, I think it’s we just don’t know. Brentwood beat Blackman, the BA, and destroyed Hendersonville. Blackman is way down. BA is supposed to be really good but haven’t shown it yet. And how good is Hendersonville? A 14 point win in a shootout with Gallatin, an 54 point blowout over Clarksville NE, and a 37 point loss to Brentwood. Obviously Brentwood is better than Hendersonville’s first two opponents, but how good are they? It’s just been all over the board.

Friday night we'll find out. I think everybody is downplaying their quality victories a bit. We shall see.

We shall. If they do the same thing to Henry County they did to Hendersonville, I’ll be a believer. If Henry County goes to Brentwood and wins what does that tell you? A lot of football to be played and I think a lot of questions still up in the air with this entire region.

I don't think they have to beat Henry County by more than 5 whole td's to know they are forreal, that seems a little far fetched. I think just winning in general will let us know that. But I'm saying its a 10+ point win 3 days before gameday.

This. It's a short list of public schools capable of beating a Division II team like BA and then following it up by embarrassing Hendersonville on both sides of the ball. I see both teams as top 5 in their class and short of other either team laying an egg Friday, the result of this game won't change my opinion

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
