I would agree with your assessment.

Oakland is just solid and goes to 17 a lot when they need a play. He is capable.

First half Riverdale shot themselves over and over in the foot. WR 4 dropped passes in his hands. Was backs against the wall and Oakland was taking it.

Oakland first half was executing way better. But overall Riverdale was more solid. They gave up a big play and then didn’t execute first half. It’s a 48 minute game.
second half was another story.

Turn that around and WR 4 found his hands and they executed second half.
Riverdale did the same on D

made the plays on 0. Limited the Oakland RB 17 as much as they could.

The two point play was 95% luck 5% play call. It was just deserving.
Oakland still had a drive and time late I thought Riverdale gave them too much time.

can’t wait for this rematch in three weeks

what a game. This game and environment is what make high school football so awesome  Before kick off both side players fans students was jumping with excitement.  It was a packed house and it was great.  The big difference is in the second half we kept the Refs out of the game.  We had 3 false starts 2 in a row in the second half and that was it .  we stopped killing ourselves with penalties and dropped balls,  that was the biggest difference in the halves.

Not sure the refs had any impact on your kids jumping offsides.

Other than the state titles and playoff wins they've earned...maybe the best regular season win.

I don't remember any of the state title games being this exciting. A few of the playoff games were close, maybe Smyrna one year, but they lost. This one being down by 17 and coming back will be hard to match in Riverdale lore.

Congratulations to Riverdale on a great win last night.   They came out in the second half and executed much better than Oakland. Riverdale qb was very efficient getting the ball to his play makers.  He has a good arm, quick release and makes good decisions.

Hopefully we'll see more of Freeman at qb for Oakland next game as he is clearly a more talented qb than Creasy.   No passing attack with Creasy whatsoever.   Freeman has more accuracy, MUCH better in and out of the pocket and the ability to scramble and tuck the ball when needed to get yards necessary.   Freeman when scrambling is looking to make a play.   Creasy when scrambling is looking for a soft spot to land and not get hit.  It's obvious.   Hope this isn't the hill Coach Creasy dies on this season but afraid it may  be.

Riverdale wanted it more and took what they felt was theirs.  They deserved it last night.

Very intriguing matchup for a number of reasons. Several streaks on the line for Oakland.. never lost at home under Creasy, never lost a region game under Creasy, Oakland has beaten Riverdale 12 times in a row, etc. This is the best team Riverdale has had since Creasy has been at Oakland. This is also likely to be the 1st of 2 matchups between these two this year which makes it even more interesting.

Every dynasty eventually crashes… maryvilles got crashed… oaklands will eventually… and alcoas will eventually.. be be another 100 years for alcoa in little 3A lol but Bradley central is a problem for any team in the state right now. Anything can happen but they’re offense is #1 in state. Their defense is #1 in state. Bradley moved the ball average of 3 yard gain on every carry in the first half against bearden who stopped west and alcoa from scoring much.. and Bradley held maryville for 12 strait plays at 1st and goal.. there were penalties and what not that led to that. But nonetheless… Bradley held them for 12 strait plays.. at this point nearly their entire offense is a D1 player. Not just D1 players.. boo carter is a monster.. high school highlights comparable to Reggie Busch’s

No one is invincible, including Bradley this year. 6A is wide open, and it shouldn’t take an Oakland loss last night for a lot of folks to realize that. Those who have paid attention know that has been the case all year

Until last night it was Oakland’s to lose. It’s been wide open, but it took an Oakland loss for me to say it’s anyone’s to win.

You spelled Reggie's name wrong, and he is upset. Said he is not part of that family.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
