Giles Co at Meigs Co

The 9-2 Giles Co Bobcats make the 3 hour drive to Decatur to face the 12-0 Meigs Co Tigers. I know very little about Giles, but they look to be a very good team and from what I hear they are the favorites in this game. What’s everyone thoughts on this one?

You can't be the underdogs..12-0 at home...against a team that has to travel more than 150 miles....Meigs has one of the best defenses in the state...most you guys think your better than Alcoa........Stop that sandbagging!

Maybe we can hold them under 70 lol. I watched some videos and they have some really good players, hopefully we can control the clock and finish drives and try to slow them down.

Not sure who wins, but this will be the last competitive game played in 3A football the rest of the season, I'm afraid.

Alcoa rolls the winner of this one and then rolls East Nashville again in the title game.

Imagine - the winner of the Giles/Meigs game is rewarded by playing at Alcoa the following week.

120 yards in penalties, horse collar in the end zone after a TD (called), kicking a player in the head when the player is on the ground (uncalled), 2 15-yarders after one play, they had enough to overcome it last night but that stuff will give them no shot against Giles. Wished Seq’s leading tackler had been in there, went out late vs Tyner and was having an outstanding 9th grade season (also on offense) but it happens. Hoping the teams meet in the postseason next year.

Easy now. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Sequatchie wasn’t exactly holding hands and singing hymns the whole game.

The horse collar was uncalled for, but Sequatchie had it’s fair share of cheap shots, and Meigs is without one of it’s best defensive players as well, he is a senior and out for the season. So don’t be a sore loser, the better team won.
