Mairvul goes two Bear-Den

9:40 left in the 2nd quarter.  The QB drops the snap picks it up and runs up the middle. Runs into a gaggle of player on both teams. Looks as if he caught his right shoe on the turf as he goes down into the pile.  Number 9 for MHS fell on him. Comes up limping. I see no stomping. The damage was done when the leg buckled under him.

Where , oh where, is Dawgz today?

Why has he left us here all alone?

I searched the board over and thought that I'd find him.

We showed the truth and then Pzzzzt he was gone.

And don’t forget about the Maryville player getting the unsportsmanlike penalty for spitting….that never happened either. What a joke.

Just for you to come up with another excuse, lmfao, I’m not doing it for you because I know you’re just going to live in denial no matter what. But if you want to find it, it’s pretty easy; just find where the quarterback goes from walking normally to walking with a limp after a 250+ pound lineman stomped on his leg. But I know you’re not even going to look because you live in a bubble of a perfect, fantastic Maryville world.

You might want to think about deleting your account and starting over with a new screen name.

I find it humorous that some are trying to downplay Maryville as still an elite program.  One bad year by their own standards, and they are no longer relevant?  I don't buy that at all.

This Maryville team is good all over the field.  Not a bad unit on either side of the ball, and they are still very young.  Not going anywhere.

Discount them all you want, but that potential for a semifinal run or better is there for Maryville.  As The Barber and I were discussing this morning while I was getting my hair cut, this is not a year to assume that either Oakland or Maryville would be the favorite in a gold ball game.  There are a couple of loaded teams on the west side of the bracket, as well.

As for my Alma Mater, Bearden, a lot of talent on the field, but not a very good team.  That's what separates them and those ahead of them right now.  Until they learn to play as a team and that it's about the team and not the individuals, they will be where they are right now.

Bottom line, as a Bearden alum and supporter of the program, and a guy with some Maryville ties as well, time to move on.  There's still season left for both.

I've shown the proof to the people I needed to without putting the kid in the spotlight for his actions or airing Maryville fans defending it.

    • After seeing Southside this summer I think they will be better than last season.  Seems that the big three Southside, South Gibson and Dyersburg will be the region favorites once again.  In 2A Gibson County is the favorite in that region with a toss up between Westview and Union City.  I think Memphis Business and Gibson Co will represent the west this season.  I think that Westviews run to glass house may end.
    • South Gibson better get ready to battle in the deep end because South Side and Dyersburg will be a challenge. They will have to beat Dyersburg in the District Finals to avoid South Side in the Region. South Gibson better find another guard that can handle pressure and score to take pressure off of Dunn. They need to learn to score to take it to another level. They scored 29 and only lost by 7 last year at state. As far as Westview and Union City, they will be pretty good but Gibson County might have the best ball handling team we have had in a while this year with four guards on the floor with 3 PG's. We have 3 seniors with tons of experience. I really love this team this year. Looks like Westview lost out to the girl from Florida to USJ. Unless something happens they will have 1 player back with meaningful minutes. I know they will be competitive for sure but they will have their hands full.
    • South Gibson drags you to the deep end and makes you like it. Tough group that communicates and really seems to love competing.  Union City will be improved but don't know how they handle nights were Moss doesn't go off.  South Side is fast and athletic but I don't think they're as good as last year.  Westview girls will be better later in the season because they are depending on folks that haven't done it yet.  Westview may lose a district game but they'll be the 1 seed over UC.  South Gibson beats Dyersburg for that district. South Side runs Jackson again.
