Covington @ Westview - 11/1/24

Lets hear some predictions for this Friday at Martin. I will start. Have a ton of respect for Covington as they have a great  program. With that said i like  Westview at home by a FG 31 28

From what I understand, Go Fan charges a fee. However, gates will open at 5:00 and there are two ticket booths that are used and two gates to walk through so it usually moves fast

From what I have read on here and heard from some friends in West Tennessee, I respect your score but, flip it towards Covington. 

That strong running game of Covington is going to grind the clock and their LB's are going to stop Westview's run game. Also, have been told Covington has some size and speed at DB so, that might hamper the long passing game. Still, WR screens may be Westview's go to or, they may pop one or two deep. 

I'm venturing Covington 34 and Westview 21-24. Haven't heard anyone say Westview can stop Covington's run game and, with many three and outs, Covington may control most of the clock.

I’m not speculating on a score, or on the winner. Apparently, nobody has stopped the WV passing attack all year. CHS has in 2024 perhaps the best run defense I have ever seen at Covington. Whether we can stop the WV passing attack remains to be seen.

On the other hand, Covington has a tremendous rushing game that hasn’t been stopped all year. Dyersburg did slow us down, though. I will be surprised if WV can contain our offense. 
 

I’m looking forward to this game tomorrow night. I would not be surprised if these two meet again in the playoffs.

Los Portales has the best sit-down Mexican food...IMO

Yes they do. La cabana has the better atmosphere but Los Portales food is better and the servings are bigger

100% I guess because I am old school and like running the ball I am with Covington to win the game. I do not think that Covington is going to be able to stop WV via the air raid however, I do not think that WV is going to be able to stop Covington from running the ball directly at them. When you can announce on the loud speaker what you guys are running and no one can stop it... It becomes demoralizing after a bit. I think it is going to be a high scoring affair and the team with the ball last will win the game. I predict Covington driving down the field with about 2 minutes left on the clock and scoring with under 10 seconds to win it!

Interesting, MOM, but you just described the game that Covington played last season at Fairley. They were a good passing team, and we traded scores all the game. Covington did drive the ball down the field at the end of the game, and scored a TD with just seconds left on the clock to win 42-38.

I’m not sure that history will repeat itself, but I like the way you think.

Westview freshman quarterback Graham Simpson faces his toughest test, and it’s for a region championship. Westview has dominated in every game, scoring at least 47 points in all nine. While Simpson has been the offensive leader, the Westview defense has been stifling and will need to slow down a strong rushing duo of brothers Jaheim and Skylan Smith.
