I personally dont see how they are the favorite, just what i saw on one of the articles...but we will see for sure this weekend...

One thing it is a whole different ball game when your on the big stage. Nobody is more prepared for that than SP that is  why they may be favored. They wake up in their own beds and take a short bus ride. MASE has to travel and do all the things that go along with that and SP  will also have a whole community in their stands and they will be loud. Not sure who wins the game, but those things I mentioned do come into play.

Remarkable season by these young Pirates. Following the early season losses, they continued to put in the work. They trusted the process, they trusted the coaches, they believed in themselves. None of us who have been around the program this long felt we would still be playing in December. But it's not about feeling, it's about heart. So here we are, against a HEAVILY favored Mase Team. On paper, we should be a 3 TD underdog, but don't count out the Pirates. Coach Stone and the others coaches will have a plan to put the players in the best position to be successful. Regardless of the outcome, Pirate nation will stand tall and proud. Expect to see the Pirates right back here again over the next few years.

yes, especially the travel!!! and also the crowd for sure being SP so close...i wonder why they have not changed the venue to like MTSU or something...makes a lot more sense being it is center travel to most other teams and would even out most travel times for teams from the state, of course not a middle TN team...but you know what i mean...

It is all bid on by cities. I agree.  MTSU would be the best location.

Best team we've faced since?

2022 Chattanooga Christian?

2021 Murfreesboro Oakland?

I think the CCS team is comparable to MASE…they just won’t have anyone as dynamic as Boo. However, they have a lot of kids that can run well. Like OP says though…To be the man….

I’m a Pirate but I agree with some others. This is likely a little much for this team. I looked up MASE. They look like a small college team in size. Definitely can tell they’re magnet/charter school by their size. Regardless of the outcome SP has had a great year. Good luck Pirates!

They are the favorite.

I don't think Murfreesboro even made a bid to host.

I think it comes back open for bidding again after this one.

    • Well, I was going to say that you had an October Bud Light to look forward to, I wasn’t gonna shake your hand or nothing, I was just going to remain in the interior room of The Iron Horse- just watching you on closed caption, I imagined you and the general wearing the ‘I am with stupid’ T-shirts, but,  somehow the game is in Chapel Hill again this season!  Nonetheless, Mitchell will provide plenty of highlights to make the Rocket season fun…
    • Since 2002.. Gibson holds a 38-33 advantage over Westview in the seasons. Fact check me on that. Because I know it’s 100%.  I wouldn’t say Gibson Co is bothered or scared of that jersey. In fact, if memory serves me right.. in the 2015-2020ish years Gibson was considered single A with about 400 students while Westview was considered double A with about 600+ students. And some of those wins for Gibson (A) during that time were blowouts… to a AA team that was at the state tournament year after year. What’s that show ya… I guarantee you Gibson isn’t scared of anyone. They play ball and has it been mentioned, they play ball with their own kids. Not other schools.
    • Yeah apparently Cocke County's quarterback from a year ago made his way over there.
