TSSAA does not put any restrictions on transfers at all.    Eligibility to compete in TSSAA sanctioned sports after the transfer is what is restricted.  These are not the same thing.

That's yet to be determined.

The state legislature will have a big part in determining exactly how the one-time transfer rule is worded.

And my opinion is that there won't be restrictions, given that the entire idea of the pending legislation is to allow parents to have choice in where their kids go to school.  The T$$AA putting additional restrictions on them would lead to lawsuits that the T$$AA couldn't win, and doesn't have the money to fight in court, anyway.

so you went out of your way to type "T$$AA" instead of TSSAA, but you knew the whole time that they don't have money to defend their policies in court?  Sounds like your critiques are conflicted...

Been to a playoff football game lately as a paying spectator?

Not conflicted at all.

yes i have.  also to regular season when knox raised prices.  none of it stressed me out as the cost of everything has increased.  maybe you missed it.

It's not the cost.

It's the fact that the T$$AA takes 50% of the gate off the top and leaves the participating schools in the hole after their own expenses.

I guess the only real question here is, " Do you think TSSAA serves a valuable service?"

Just like NCAA, useless as #### on a boar hog.

I'd disagree.   You wouldn't even have feasible seasons or classes without a governing body.  It's easy to complain, but if it was a sports world without rules, things would be a whole lot worse.

And don't tell me schools would govern themselves.  Some of them can't even govern their own programs.

Obviously there has to be a bottom-line decision governing body.

My issue is that governing organizations in surrounding states seem to be able to operate in an efficient manner taking far less than half of the playoff gates. And most of them even manage to have their state championship weekends in either major D1-A or even NFL venues.

Seems to be some misplaced priorities in Hermitage.  Schools shouldn't have to struggle to pay expenses to play in playoff games.

    • Haven’t seen you in here in a while Moon Man.  How are you doing?
    • Well, that is a valid point. 1/3? Can confirm that number has dropped drastically.
    • Surprised that anyone knew about what? Some transferring to CF? What you think you’re the only one that knows players/parents 😂. I said I’d have to see it to believe it but considering how buddy buddy Oneida and CF students are nowadays I don’t think it’s as much of a stretch as in years past. I mean it seems like about 1/3 of the Oneida student body are dating students from CF anymore 😁
    • I’ll say this, I’ve never seen so many kids either quit or transfer. Especially coming from a small place. I know what I think and what would probably work but hey, I don’t make the decisions around these parts.
