bobcatfan300
I don't think Temple will win. Their lackof depth will eventually hurt them at some point. They will also be hurt if they run into a team with a lot of size. They aren't even the best team in East TN. Pickett Co. is. Plus in middle TN u have 2 strong teams in Ezell and CPA, both only returning all but 1 player each from last years team. 825394780 Hey Moose...leave Pickett County alone...don't move us into East Tennessee!!! We like it just fine here in MIDDLE Tennessee! But, you are right that Pickett is one of the best. Another writer mentioned Pickett not being in the final 4 last year...that will be a huge help. Last year Pickett had one of the best teams in the state...beat Unaka 80-57 and Gordonsville by 10 or more. But, they lost in the region, the earliest in maybe 20 years with Joseph Bailey injured and playing on a bad knee & ankle. That loss will be a HUGE reminder all through the playoffs this year and will motivate them to the state tournament.
Hawk1434
oldtimeballer63, do you have any idea what C. Skogen, S. Wadley, and S. Skogen scoring averages were last season? Just curious. Same for you redandwhite forever. Do you know what Eldridge, Van Horn, and Parschalls averaged? 825394531 I've got an idea why dont you take your thumb out of Temple's butt and quit livin in a dream world, talk about your team a tad...or maybe there's nothing really to brag on Sale Creek about... gomab2
Who are the biggest Class A teams??? West Carroll has a starting frontcourt of 6'5, 6'9, 6'7... Trenton has a frontcourt of 6'7, 6'8... Chatt Christian has a frontcourt of 6'7, 6'9... __________________________________________________________________ The key to these teams' sustained success, however, will likely come down to their guard play... How will Johnson and Hunt lead the backcourt at West Carroll??? How will Easley, Ashburn, and Ramsey lead the backcourt at Trenton??? jcafootball
Theirs a couple of new faces on the team but none from clarksville. The new kids we got are just kids who moved from the local area, none of them will be factors. Whoever gave you that info was misinformed. oldtimeballer63
I don't think Temple will win. Their lackof depth will eventually hurt them at some point. They have a good bench and will do well against anyone -- no matter the size. Yes, they may be "small" but they have lots of speed and will wear out other teams with bigger players. And I would say -- contrary to what you say -- that they are probably the "best" team in Class 1A in Tennessee. I guess time will tell. Should be an exciting team to watch this season. moose3542
mtownballer, Ezell is led by 6'8 center Joe Lackey. Should average a double double this year. Should average 20 pts. 10 boards and a couple blocks a game. Their second leading scorer is shooting guard Aaron Duke. Can drive and shoot the three. He has averaged areound 15 a game the last 2 years and will prolly stay in that same range this year. Could average 20 but Lackey will be the scoring leader. After that they have PG Josh Pitto who is a great open shooter and excellent passer. Then Chris Blackburn who will add toughness and will match up with the opposing teams best guard. As for their fifth starter they can go big or small. If they go small they will start Freshman Shawn Kennedy, who can shoot lights out. I heard he was their leading scorer in their scrimmage the other day. If they go big, they have a few big bodies in Sophomore Hunter Watson and 6'5" Senior Cody Meek. They also have good backup guards in Brandin Hardin, Carl Gettis, and Kevin Chandler. I see this team in the state tourney.
mhsbbfan2005
Come on now McEwen fans be serious. Daniel Puckett is a awesome player but he's the only one on the team that can bring the ball down court. Unless Puckett can win them all by himself I dont see McEwen making it out of the region. CPA has to be the big time favorite this season with most of thier roster returning. 825383119 Puckett will not bring the ball down court this year. Elrod, a Junior, will be the point guard. He can handle the pressure. Other starters are Smith, Diviney and Hatcher. All starters this year have lots of experience from last year. Great strong bench this year as well.
mhsbbfan2005
The suprise is this. Ive been watching the practices after school, and what everyone dosnt know is that Daniel Puckett is not THE team anymore. Trey smith will be shooting threes all year on the best defenders. Speekinking of defenders, Bubba Diviney will be one of the best defenders in 1A basketball. This years new starting point gaurd mitch Lagan will probebley have more assist than most 1 A players. And Finely the main suprise will be when THE MCEWEN WARRIORS win state. 825416415 I believe Elrod is strating point guard. Lagan will come off the bench to relieve Elrod. Both are good ball handlers, shooters and defensive players.
