Oh ok, I thought you said he didn't. I must have misunderstood you. He had one good run against us, but we hit him hard and often the rest of the night. The D was swarming. Just let them have way too many short fields. D played good enough to win.

He got hurt a game or two after. Was out for several games.

Well our season is over but I'm proud of our young men, they never gave up. Hard to give out shirts tonight ... too much emotion but in the end 1,2,30 and 44 got shirts. As always I could have given a whole lot more out but gotta pick someone. If I had enough for every member of the team, I would have given them all one tonight. Proud of the Oak Ridge Wildcats tonight.

#44 is a great player and is only a Sophomore, which is great for us. He met #31 in the hole on more than one occasion tonight and absolutely stoned him. He's done that many times this year, and did it to #6 for Fulton a few weeks back too. If he grows a bit and works hard on the weights I think he could be a legitimate D1 prospect. Going out on a limb there, but I truly believe that. He has an uncanny nose for the football.

I would like to see public schools against only public schools in the playoffs for a level playing field.  It's just common sense , IMO.  These boys deserved the chance to advance if they could have beaten their own kind of school. I thought they played so good and I hope they know how much we fans appreciate their effort and hard work !

I'm with you guys, but it is what it is, I guess. It sucks for sure though. We proved that we could play with them though, private or not. There's no doubt about that. We just made too many mistakes to win. Not having #33 out there hurt us a lot, even on kickoffs. They had short fields all night long. It hurts man, but we will be back. I like our chances the next few years with the little freshman QB moving up. He's a winner, and a great player. He's somebody you can build a good team around. Definitely gonna miss some of those defenders, though, but we got some good ones coming back. We have practically the whole secondary coming back and #44 at LB and one lineman who was very good. Had a few young linemen on offense too who will be back. #53 who will be a Soph got a lot of quality learning experience earlier in the year, too. Tough loss fellas. This one hurt.

I listened to the last several minutes , got really exciting when it was 28-20 , Congrats on a great season and I think Oak Ridge is going in the right direction now .

Yes and a lot of good Juniors.  #21 is a sophomore.  Anyway, they did so much better than anyone thought they could.  It's been fun.  Tonight is the only loss that ticked me off for reasons I already said.  We're lucky to have good coaches and good kids, and I already can't wait till next year!

Very proud of this Oak Ridge team. After last yr there wasn't a lot to be happy about. This yr we got the most out of what we had.Im a lil surprised that we made so many mistakes and still had a chance to win.Next yr can be really big.7 and 21 healthy all yr could be huge.I agree with everybody on Adams bc he has really stood out 2nd half of season. We have some great options at QB next season that I'm pumped about. Also lets do what we can to get T.Jackson back.I would love to see him out there with his lil bro.Thank u SRs for playing so hard and never quitting all year.Last yr we had good offense and no D.This yr we had the d and not enuff o.Next yr it is all gonna come together.GO WILDCATS

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
