  1. She wouldn't have been MVP had the other kid not hit the buzzer beater for Bradley Central to win the state championship..... see how that works? Good player, yes, but comes with baggage.... I imagine Williams will step right in and Bradley Central will keep cruising....

  2. This isn’t a possibility because Stone does not teach at SP or even in Marion County. Also the teaching position has to be filled for the next assistant coach. This isn’t college football where you can just name a guy a coordinator without it matching up with the school. WS drives from Chattanooga daily for practice typically after it’s already started. Hire will be someone that is at the school full time that can fill both positions (teaching & coaching) and shoulder responsibilities throughout the week.

  3. Looks like Diffee will be bringing the greatest show on turf in Milan next year.

  4. Yes either team could have won the game, but Bradley made a couple more shots in OT, but it was a great game between two really good teams. I promise you Meigs is a top 5 team in 2A and can beat any team in the state on any given night.

  5. Losing to Upperman and Bradley in OT? Another month and your team will be ready to go. Best wishes to a diehard fan who has real skin in the game!

  6. Great win tonight at Karns. Totally destroyed them. Shanklin with a dunk in front of his old team was the highlight of the night.

  7. Agreed. She’s an impact player and will be missed. Not just for her skill but her personality as well.

  8. Akin is a good guy. Hopefully he can get some things turned around over there. I wish him and Tech luck. I hope the school system gives him a bit of time to get it turned around. Too much talent over there for them to only win a couple of games a year.

  11. Wait are you talking about Blair?? She transferred???? If that is who you are talking about Blair was the best player on the court EVERY game of the state tournament. I watched every second of it. Anyone that couldn't see that is blind. I am not a Bradley fan at all but she played the tournament of her life. That is what kids dream of.

  13. I shouldn’t have indicated that it couldn’t be done only that it would be difficult. You can juggle teaching positions around if other teachers are willing to shift and are certified to do so as well but you can’t just place people in classrooms teaching subjects that can’t teach. Also depends on when that particular coach is available to meet and prepare for games and practices. Malone also lasted just one year. AFTER they hired him they found out he didn’t have his license. It was also getting closer to spring practice time so rather than Whitwell go through a coaching search again he stayed for 1 year. Whitwell’s way of doing things isn’t the best example to use when discussing structure within a football program.

  14. Great, when they designate a different player as the MVP I will call her the best player.

  15. Sure when they name a different girl the MVP, I will refer to them as the best player. MVP by definition makes the team better.

  16. Yeah sure, but he is still the best player on that team right? He still wins the MVP title of lakers squad. Not sure why this is hard for you, unless you are just upset someone is not calling yours the best. Did that girl win the MVP or not?

  17. You didn't comprehend what TonyH said. Jasper has split factions. SP has a united front. When the Captain decides to hang it up, and its inevitable that some day he will, there will already be a plan in place.

  18. The only thing a Warrior fan should be concerned with is will Jasper get a coach that will unite the town. Not worry about SP. Marion’s situation is a dumpster fire right now with the community and they hopefully can bring in somebody that both sides are good with. As as far as SP though nobody knows when Grider is leaving. The captain will leave when he chooses. He has more than earned that right but when he does I can assure you there will be a plan in place prior to that decision.

  19. I'm hearing some major changes at SP coming in the next couple of weeks. Might be an interesting Spring Camp. OH, Pirate Mike, I'm with you on Coach Stone.

  20. Those people clearly don't "get it," and they don't care about football. Consistently rolling out a losing team, and never supporting the program should call for disciplinary action. They would be better off shutting it down. It's hard to attract the best of anything, teachers or coaches, you have to pay for it. Teachers aren't going to get rich, but the wages in CC are essentially choosing poverty.

  21. Callins is back but just limited for now. She knocked down at least one if not two threes in her small amount of time in. I thought she actually looked pretty good to have been off for so long. She makes a difference for sure for Westview when on the floor both as a leader and as another quick guard that can handle the ball and shoot. They should be rolling by tournament time

  22. Thanks! He’s been given a great opportunity to play for a championship winning OC who has assembled an unbelievable staff. Brought some from Clemson. Holden had developed relationships with them at Clemson camp back in 2018 but never saw this coming. His position coach Joey King played QB at Carson Newman & was Trevor Lawrence’s HC at Cartersville, GA and had been coaching at Coastal Carolina the last season or two. The new OC is Charlie Weiss JR. (Bama staff & with Kiffin at FAU). RBs coach is former two-time Heisman finalist QB Pat White-WVU. DL coach “Mo” is from Sevier County mid 90s and played for UNC. He has coached for almost 20 years with stops at Temple & FAU (with Kiffin) most recently. The list keeps going on! They are scheduled to have a $65M indoor/outdoor training facility completed by 2021. They have over 25,000 students at the main Tampa campus alone so it’s big. It’s the perfect fit for Holden and the offense they plan to run! Go Bulls!

  23. Father Ryan and MBA didn't play in 1995 or 1996. That was during the brief period between 1993 and 1996 when the TSSAA expanded from three to five divisions and FRHS played at the 4A level in 1995 and 1996. I hope the series can be renewed for 2021. Is it known how the rotation will go with the Nashville split after this upcoming season?
