I wish you would come to region 2 if you go and watch coalfield play these teams you would understand that everytime coalfield steps on the field everyone in the east wants to beat them cause they are classy and they hit you in the mouth ask anyone around the east area that plays coalfield i bet everyone tells you there main goal is to beat coalfield so before you know why midway almost beat Coalfield dont run your mouth cause if you would have been there you can see that everygame coalfield has is tough cause the other team is playing for there season if they beat coalfield they have a good year!!

I think Coalfield will win it all. Like Rook said, they haven't got on here running their mouths any. They do it on the field and show more class then probably any other team in the state. They've been a little quieter this year, and if they get to the state championship then I think they'll get a lot more respect from other teams. I hope they can go undefeated, but like some people said, Region 2 is one of the best this year from top to bottom, with the top 3 being, Coalfield, Midway, and Harriman. All these teams look good enough to go very deep into the playoffs and I would just love to see any Region 2 team in the championship. Watch out because there could be some surprises this year.

It has been a while where there isn't actually a clear cut favorite to win it in 1A. Last year it was Trousedale Co. Years before that it was DCA and Boyd Buc. and so on.

Friendship and South Pitt are my picks from the east. I just don't see any of the other east teams beating these 2. What was the score of the Friendship vs South Pitt game last year anyways?

The west I'm still going with Jo Byrns going to the boro. I'm not sure how Union City is really, but I don't think Mt. Pleasant is as good as recent years. They have 1 stud player it sounds like. Should be interesting.

14-13. Great game. I expect it to be every bit as exciting this year if they make it to play each other.

I saw that your team got in the W column last week. Their brutal schedule should have them well prepared for the playoffs in 2-A.

Yup we finally got one. Its been a hard year with this schedule. Got Cookeville left and then last to region games. Hopefully playing that schedule will pay off. Maybe next year we won't have any trouble finding teams to play. :)

Hope to see South Pitt at the swamp next year for another classic. ;)

Will be pullin for the Pirates during the play offs.

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
