McCallie vs. Brentwood Academy

Too bad 2a Alcoa is not in DII. They could be the Champs.

Too bad that BA, McCallie, etc. were relegated to DII or they would still be playing the Riverdale, Farragut, etc. in the playoffs. Did you ever think about that?

Well at least we will know who the best football team in the state of Tennessee is on Nov. 18th after this game. No need to wait till Dec. 2nd.

mmmm...not this year, but i would usually agree with that. i wish there could be a game between like the 5A champs and D2AAA champs at the very end of the year. it'd be a great game every year

 

oh and i think Brentwood will pull out a squeaker. i hope they will broadcast the games again this year on tv

They did fly (Pigskins) against McCallie this year and they all counted for Alcoa!

 

And if Riverdale wins 5A? I've heard you "victimize" Alcoa long enough. In case you don't realize, everyone is aware that Alcoa is a 2A school; technically, so is McCallie. Actually, most schools is Division II are 2A and 3A size. What does that say about their dominance since the split?

 

The Big 7/8 didn't dominate when it was all 3A except for the great run BA had.

I don't remeber the quarter rounds back then being all D-II schools back then.

That would be domination.

 

Just having fun folks and reminding U that they do play a little football outside of D-II. BTW- I have over 12 relatives that have graduated from the fine schools in D-II.

MBA went quarters in 96 and 2nd round in 94.

 

MUS made finals in 90, quarter in 91 and 92 and 2nd round in 96

 

BA made semis from 92-94 and state champs in 91

 

All three had other playoff appearances in the 90s. There was certainly a presence from the DII schools before the split.

 

Either way, looks like McCallie will be playing football longer than Riverdale this year.

There are reasons public schools complain about dII schools. I'm not going into it all but just wanted to wish McCallie luck tomorrow night. Some Ooltewah fans will be making the drive to Murfreesburo to support our fellow Chattanooga team. I hope the tornadoes blow them away. Good luck!
