I'd say Pearl-Cohn was much better than "decent" now HOWEVER the thing that also needs to be said is that Fulton better knock off all of the penalties and unsportsmanlike nonsense if they want to win the state title next weekend. Lipscomb will play sound and fundamental football as always :P

Agreed from a DHS Trojan fan that knows how much better a team plays without uncalled for penalites..The Trojans wins come from being more disciplinced as well as DL does..Fulton those silly penalities will kill you and DL will make you pay for them ..nuff said ! GO STANGS

Fulton-56

DL-----07

Alcoa-72

GP---- 00

Maryville-45

Hillsboro--21

East Tennessee is what its all about

thats a little extreme. its too close to call. Goodpasture has speed and size and i dont know if the tornados can handle fisher, groves, locke, medely, and lovell. ill be there and pulling for GP. as for lipscomb, ive seen elrod play and i dont think that boys of fulton can handle him either. shut him down and fulton might have a chance. but with DL anyone can stepup at any given moment. dont be shocked if GP and DL take home gold balls

Good Luck DL from your brothers at Boyd. We played Fulton and they cleaned our clocks two years in a row. The Rogan kid is the real deal. If you can stop him you CAN win this game. Their Line is big and slow, but they stay after you and block downfield as well as anyone. Fulton is a very good team with good coaching, just like DL. They do have a weakness in the kicking game, maybe you can capitalize on that somehow. Good luck to both teams, but I'm pulling for DL.

I'm sorry but I can't really take this too seriously, especially the talk about the Wing T, we played against THE BEST wing T offense in the state *Catholic* and we took care of business there. Tell me what colleges are looking at Elrod?? Is he going D1. As for us praying for a sweep... why would we pray we don't rely on luck just pure skill. And I think Webb took a gold ball home against all odds. I see a total of 4 gold balls this year in K-town. Wow, you all won DII championships.... what an accomplishment! Bottom line Webb, Catholic, Fulton, Maryville, Alcoa are the best teams in the state, only reason catholic doesn't come home with one is cause they lost to Fulton ;-p

I love how you all have convinced yourselves that you are "trash talking." When this entire thread is "Fulton will win." or "Lipscomb will win." If not that it is someone posting a score. Surely someone will have guessed the score correctly by Saturday, and will come back on here and say, "See, I told you so." Thing is, no one from the other team will be here to read it, so enjoy this phenomenon. Someone send word to me if this thread gets interesting.

Perhaps our East Tennessee friends would like to know about some of our Lipscomb traditions...

After reading this thread that quote was going to be my comment too, HolySnap. Fulton already played the best WingT team in the state twice this season. While I would have liked the last 30-40 seconds of the 2nd Irish v. Falcons game to have gone just slightly different (i.e. just one more incompletion for the Falcons would do), Fulton will be very ready for the Wing T this week.

Fulton needs to approach this game just as though Lipscomb is the best team they've faced all year. The Falcons need the same mindset they brought to Blaine Stadium for the 2nd game with the Irish. If they do, I really think they will win big, scoring some even number exceeding 24 points. Go Falcons! :D

[You understand, that's only until next year.... :thumb: ]

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
