I think you hit the nail on the head. I did see Temple play, all eleven of them.

yea -you're just ignorant- whatever, thanks for not reponding to my other comments (I LOVE BEING RIGHT) but for real there were games that other kids didn't show up- (meaning they played like poo and hurt the team more than helping...)

Seth and Joey showed up and played in every game, even hurt. There is no argument here to the size of their contribution to the overall team effort. There were one or two kids that really messed up regularly and could have really cost us games like the one against Trousdale but there were also other kids who, knowing it was their last dance, stepped up and made up the difference. There were a lot of stars last year who stepped up with herculean effort. I doubt we will see another season like last year for quite some time.

Kids playing like poo and hurting more than helping is a much bigger problem this year than last. We have had enough "unsportsmanlike" penalties to last a season and most or all of those have come from one kid.

What high school did he graduate from???? Thank you- I'll sign autographs later this afternoon..

LFO = Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Another interesting point to consider: didn't Temple go to the basketball state tournament in just their second year in TSSAA? I believe they played Austin East. They didn't win, but it goes to show Temple's basketball has been good for a long time.

Like I said- Temple has not produced an SEC player....

Good teams- maybe- not great- not region and freakin district titles every year untill the "McCallie skogens" came...weren't all the skogens' up for mr. basketball and then mr. football this past year???

Jimmy did go to Temple High though. I don't know what year he transferred to LFO, but I know he went to Temple High. So your statement about no one from Temple High playing for an SEC team is incorrect. If McMasters transferred to a prep school for his senior year (or a post-senior year) would you still say Grace had a player go play in the SEC?

Temple's teams in the early 90's may have been only good, but playing against Grace made them at least look great.

When's the last year Temple had a losing record in basketball? or even failed to win 20 games? (not counting any they may have to forfeit from last year...lol).

Who really cares? Isn't it more impressive that they've been so successful without any SEC-bound talent? And the fact that the Skogens helped TTA is another moot point. Jordan helped the Bulls, Jeter helped the Yankees, Eldridge helped the Eagles. What does it matter?

Whoever you are please shut your mouth. If you are truly affiliated with Grace (which I doubt) please remember who you represent. For every other person on here we apologize for the actions of this individual and hope that you are all aware that this is not representative of the vast majority of people at Grace. We respect every school in the Chattanooga area and look forward to future competition with all schools, public and private. Again, whoever you are stop immediately or identify yourself so we may discuss this with you in private. If you are not willing to identify yourself on this forum you are more than welcome to email me at rustonpierce@gmail.com

Hey Ruston, take it easy on the kid. He is not hurting anybody. Most of us on here are old enough and experienced enough to not take him seriously and we also are familiar enough with Grace to know that he is does not represent what Grace is all about.

As long as he stays within the boundaries fo the "Board Rules" he can express himself in whatever creative way he desires. I have wondered for a long time if he was actuall a Temple person posting on here to just rile up the Temple folks. We may need to be the ones telling him to be quiet and act right instead of you.

The year before they joined, they won the National Association of Christian Schools championship. And the attached university is a perennial NCCAA contender. There's a lot of basketball tradition on Highland Park Boulevard.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
