I stand corrected! I remember when van huss came over to talk to me before a game one time and that ment more to me than anything at that time. He was a special man(from the old school).

Sometimes, people make accusations toward people. Just like a lot of the comments on this message board says that we are a bunch of redneck hicks, hayseeds, etc., if you come from Hawkins Co. I apologize if any was offended.

Being a member of the Indian faithful and bleeding maroon and gray, I live for games like this. It doesn't get any better than Dobyns Bennett and Science Hill in upper east Tennessee. I put my maroon on yesterday and won't take it of until late tonight. Maroon all day, can't wait for tipoff.

 

By the way, I've got a plan for a website pretty well mapped out in my head. It may be a little different than what we've brainstormed on this thread, but I think you'll like it no less. I just need to put pencil to paper, when I find some time, and I will post my plans to the board and have you give me your thoughts.

I don't think you need too apologize for anything. Everything you said was so true. If Tricitiessportsfan would go back and read this thread there is more dogging of VHS than any other school. And I would bet big money on that. I think your judgement is correct. Its hard to keep an "open mind" when people up the road knock you down soooo often on coacht. Good Luck tonight to all teams especially the Falcons!

Obviously I have read every post on this thread, so much so that I wish I could redeem each viewing for frequent flyer miles and vacation to a warmer climate. I know Volunteer has been slighted more than any other school in the Big 9, you know I know that. My advice to keep an open mind is based on the notion that not all of us from 'up the road' have degraded or made negative comments towards Volunteer, it's coaches, it's players, or it's fans. I, personally, don't speak for or against the Falcons program. If anything I have sympathies for Volunteer as my girlfriend is an alumni of the school and resides in Mt. Carmel. I understand it's hard to keep an open mind when others knock something you support down, consistantly. One closes themselves off, however, when they see any comment or mention of that thing you support as negative. At that point, you are viewing things through stained glass. You have a right to be perturbed with us yokels from 'up the road', but regularly viewing everything we say as an attack (thought it does seem the majority are) takes away from your perspective. I'm interested in your incite, not necessary your ability to defend yourself and Volunteer. In essence, let your guard down a bit, don't argue with those who you can't change their minds, and enjoy the thread. Before you reply, consider my points for a moment. Take it or leave it.

Okay, what happened to the Indians? Is SH that much better or were the Indians just in neutral? Had another engagement tonight and couldn't even listen.

DB just flat out didn't show for the game. And I believe you are looking at the Coach of the Year and Player of the Year on the same team in Cutlip and Odom. If you have it in neutral playing in the PALACE and with the District Championship on the line. Then as the old folks say...... "your wood is wet!!!" The only thing in my Alma's favor is that the District and Regionals will be played at the Dome. BUT!!!! CMO has his work cut out from this group of underacheivers, and I say this with no regrets, because this team was touted to be better than last year and hands down the conference and Regional favorites. I don't think ANY team from the IMAC can matchup with either the Toppers or the Indians, but my eyes are on who will have to travel and play Region 2? That will be no picnic!!! GOD Bless.....

 

PS..... I have only one more question......where in the world is Carmen SanDiego? No but where is WACO's "Word of the Day?" His wisdom is MIA as of late.... and I know he has the inside scoop on what is wrong with the Indians.

If South can beat Crockett on the road and DB beats Boone, South will finish 5th even if Central wins. I'm guessing the tourney shapes up like this : Volunteer vs. Crockett to play in against SH & East vs. South in the upper bracket. The lower half would be Tn.Hi. vs. Central & DB vs.Boone again. Does this look right to everyone else assuming no big upsets in final games?
