  1. 1. Who will 7-AAA

They're doubted because they never come across as spectacular, just play hard, with sound defense, and good teamwork. Is it boring sometimes? Yes, but it produces results as evidenced by their 541 wins in Coach King's 23 seasons

Randy King is by far the best coach in 7AAA men's basketball. He has been doing it along time and will always get the best out of his team! Congratulations Coach King!

Congrats to Oakland on their huge victory last night. It is always nice when Siegel gets knocked back to reality. The regional tourney is going to be great this year.

I'm trying to figure out if Siegel was like undefeated or something?? No they weren't. Oakland fans on here are going crazy because they've won 1 game...... May i ask what the district standings are???? The same as they were before the game, and thats all that matters.

no one is crazy at all. Siegel folks wana run that mouth sayin its impossible for Oakland to win a 10 pt game.

I really feel like Oakland is good enough to make state if there D stays like this

Oakland didn't even need Brandon to win this one.

Siegel ALWAYS trying tp pull some stuff gosh!

There is acouple Siegel posters who arn't bad at all tho.

Its Oakland-Siegel, it is always going to be a big deal. Were more or less using Siegel's own words against them. Must have meant a pretty good bit since every Siegel poster has done their best vanishing act.........

Siegel may still be in first, but actually the standings tightened up dramatically with the Oakland win. Cookeville and Oakland are both 8-2 and only one game out of first place.

Siegel has an easy road ahead of them though... Shouldn't lose again.

And before the Oakland game Friday they SHOULDN'T have lost. That's why ya play them.

The win was big for Oakland because it tied them up with Cookeville for 2nd. Thats big for seeding in the tourney.

And maybe Siegel doesnt lose again. However, that win for Oakland is huge just for the mere fact that should Oakland have to cross paths with the Stars again, they KNOW that they can beat them, and not just hope for a good game. It will be interesting to see if anybody tries to replicate Oakland's gameplan in the future, namely Lebanon. It was Lebanon in 06-07 that gave Oakland the outright title after they beat the Stars in the last district game of the regular season. I am not saying it will happen, but crazier things HAVE happened in this district...............

While it's tough to lose a big rivalry game like Oakland/Siegel, the stars probably needed that loss to prepare them for a post season run. They needed somebody to take them down a notch or two and show them they can be beat and where their weaknesses are. Congrats to Oakland on a solid game, they deserved to win that game. Oakland may not have the depth of talent that Siegel has, but they've got a great group of leaders in that senior class. Great bunch of kids that make Coach King's job a lot easier. Keep your head up Siegel and stay focused on your goals! Go stars!!

I haven't posted on here in a long time. Sometimes I get so frustrated I don't want to say the wrong thing or write something that someone else twists around. Stop grouping all posters from the various schools together. The one or two arrogant Siegel posters don't represent the school. They give Siegel a bad rap. Not just Siegel, but there are posters from the other schools that aren't helping their school's cause either. I think all posters from all schools are very passionate about their school and team, as it should be. We forget that alot of the postings are opinions and thats ok. Not everyone is going to agree. All schools are going to complain about refs at one point or another. And yes I have seen some bad officiating this year. And I was watching some other teams in tournament play so I'm not talking about just Siegel or 7aaa.

I give props to Oakland on their win. Siegel was so off their game that night because Oakland took them out of their "run and gun" game. Siegel can learn a good lesson from the loss on how to improve thier game and make it more dimensional. If not, take note EVERYONE from here on out will slow down and play a half court offense.

One more thing and I'll stop. Why do people keep thinking kids are recruited and not in the correct zone? Who would be that stupid to risk forfeiting an entire season if they are caught. I know for a fact that everyone on Siegel's team is living in the zone legally. In my job, I have access to these sort of records. Now I also know there are loopholes to be found too. And all schools know about them too. When my family moved back to the Boro 7 years ago, we looked at homes in specific school zones. Who doesn't? When I ask what the policy for zoning was for those employed at Rutherford County schools, I was told if the parent or legal guardian was a full time employee of that school their child could go there. Not a part time caferteria worker or MDA. How about a vice prinicipal at another RC school where their child was allowed to pick what school they wanted to go to. Example - parent employed at Laverge, kid goes to Oakland, zoned for Siegel. Now how about a caferteria worker, full time at one school, lives in another school's zone and their child was denied a zone exemption to the school that the parent work full time at. Why the difference you asked? Makes you wonder. Me too. But it happened to my family. Recruiting? maybe... But, everything still worked out for the good. Hope everyone's remaining season is safe and injury free!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
