Well??¦here we are. I don??™t know about you guys (and you too Mom Taylor) but I knew we would end up here again this year. And believe it or not I think we made it through this week will minimal hurt feelings??¦so far??¦ /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> and I contribute that to the mutual respect that these two teams and their fans (whether we want to admit it or not) have developed for each other. So NOW??¦it??™s time to put-up or shut-up!!!! I don??™t do predictions of my own team but I will tell you that especially after going to the senior week activities last night and getting to talk to all the players??¦I FEEL GOOD ABOUT THIS GAME. They know what to expect and they know what they need to do. AND??¦they know that if they don??™t do these things??¦this could (and probably will) get ugly. But the same can be said about the other side. Wildcat??¦after thinking about it??¦I was very tempted to run that Rebel Rag up the flag pole last night. After talking to the boys last night, seeing that first thing in the morning would have without a doubt set the tone for tonight. I even had the flag lined up??¦but my wife seriously threatened to divorce me??¦and said that I was taking this football thing way to far. I asked her if I could have some time to think about it??¦ /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

Oh yea??¦we practiced the shaking of the hands with the Captains last night??¦and we also installed a beeper on the PA system so that if the students start one of those offensive cheers, we can beep out the trash talking parts. We certainly don??™t want to offend the Angels in the stands or all those Choir Boys on the field for the Rebels. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Good luck to all and let??™s hope the officials let us play tonight!!!

great post cap. hope the game is injury free tonight so we can see each other down the road again. I agree about both teams respecting each other and all is in fun and I hope people don't take things to heart because I know I don't. I wish you would have told me you were thinking about running the flag up the pole because I don't live too far away. I could have met you there and done the dirty work for you. You still need to tell me where you were going to get a stars n bars in Bristol because I went to wal-mart last night and they still didn't have them. Hope we play great tonight so all you viking fans can keep your hands warm. the combination of concrete and your butt keeps them mighty toasty. Be safe all and see everybody on here Monday morning one way or another. GO REBELS!!!!

/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ! As ususal, you are the master of intimidation. As Volman would say, "I got your intimidation!" Please, no injuries. As far as trash talking these two don't need no such stuff. It will be all walking tonight. I think we are underestimating you. I also think you are underestimating us. I see the score under 30 and tight as a drum. I can't predict this game. Too much emotion riding on it. Too many battles going on. Keenan/Fletch, Bradley/Harmon, Young/KK, Stubbs/Carter...what a game. I need a shot of something to calm me down. Keenan put 200 on us last year but Fletch' was bridled. We'll see. Rebel Nation.

I should have known. Tell me something. I'm guessing you played on that THS team. How do you think East would have done against last year's south team?

No, that was just the year I registered on CoachT. I think South would've defeated East. I saw East in three games that year (South, Elizabethton, TN High). Two of them East was hanging on for dear life and the 3rd was a slaughter. Eads, Nidiffer, and the Smith brothers were good players for East, but without Eads who knows how many games they would've lost that year. In 2004 the only team that really gave TN High any sort of challenge prior to the semifinals was South in the rematch. Mo' West was a lot better than their 4-6 record indicated, but the Vikings had 3 tds called back in that game.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
