If you want us to elaborate on the scrimmages we've had over the years we will , btw , I hope you enjoyed playing Maryville " close " ... moral victory and all .

Actually the last thing I want to hear iabout is your scimmages, Or your Moral victories against Florida , Alabama & UCLA.. ... My point is, You could not have been at the same scimmage... if you think it was even. & that was against Stevens.

I will say this, Maryville was supposed to blow OR out.

.. I mean it was on TV! A lot to Play for..

Everyone was supposed to blow OR out now that I think about it.

I mean OR hung in there with a team who has at least 3 or 4 of the best players in the state (Clinton)

If Blade can do this with OR down, & limited time.. I would say the future looks bright. I would say Maryville has the best overall coaching staff in the state.

But the best Head Coach in this state is Scott Blade.

Well enjoy your " Moral Victory " . Glad you're happy with your coach now , I think we'll stick with Quarles .... I mean everyone knows that second best always tries harder ! :thumb: Feels funny seeing Bladerunner as a " Homer "

Seriously , good luck to Oak Ridge , and If we do meet again , maybe we can be better hosts next time . Hate that some Oak Ridge fans feel " cheated and mistreated "

Of course this is JMO but being

second best is not always bad, I think the second best Coach in the state could win it all (that would be GQ, for some of your slower rebels)

But DB brings a lot of tradition.. They think they can win....But you've heard that before .. right?

This will be a good one to watch..

Congrats to D. Roop and his troops When the playoffs start every thing is even. I coached David when he was young in a couple of leagues. He is a gamer and a super all around young man. My hat is off to him and his parents ( great people also ) Their year has not been an easy one. They have never quit and with CS in the back field any thing can happen. I am not a DB fan but I wish them good luck.

Play the tuba boys!!!! One and Done, One and Done.

You all may not like Cap1 but he's speaking the truth. DB fans have said over the past few years how Maryville wouldn't be winning those championships at a higher level and how DB has always played Maryville tough in scrimmages. Just look at the earlier post with the moron saying that DB would have beaten them in the scrimmage if not for the turnovers. Well, now you get your shot and you want to play nice with the Maryville people because you know you are coming home with an L.

And Huck Van Buss is still my favorite basketball coach of all time.

Why don't you Idiots get off of it. Do you actually think you have to come on here to try and fire up Maryville to beat DB. a 5-5 team? How stupid! To start with your example is wrong so that make you the "Mo-Ron" chump. The poster never said that DB would of "beaten" Maryville in the scrimmage. As far as what DB fans have said or have not said about Maryville in past years can easily be debated. One thing is that at least 99% of DB fans have great respect for Maryville and always have. Another thing is that up here in "upper" east tn. we have some real cute "posers" that like to create new screen names and pretend to be DB fans just to stir things up. "Up here" its more popular to pull against DB than pull for your own team. I call them Haters. As for Cap1, if you have half a brain you can read his post on this thread and figure out what he's all about. He's also a former Mo-Ron of the year award winner. Maryville fans go through something simular from what I've read on their threads. Losers always giving them grief over this and that. Upper east tn. will rejoice in DB's defeat friday night but I'll bet Maryville will be a class act like they always have been. Its a bad year for us to have to face Maryville but I think we'll have some very good games in the future.

The truth hurts don't it Wac-O!! :o I guess WildCat is a DB hater too. We are all just jealous of the Indians of DB. :o Believe me... by the end of this week the smoke screen you guys have been blowing up ever body's back side these first couple of days on this thread will disappear, and that arrogant attitude of entitlement will show through despite what is getting ready to happen to you Friday night. You guys just can't help it. You drawing Maryville for the first game of the playoffs (that you probably wouldn't have made had it still been the old system by the way) is simply KARMA! If I were you I would start playing up the Mighty DB Band... they are the real deal!! Even though they have instruments, they don't have to go around tuttin their own horn to try to get respect.

So you got " Cheated and Mistreated " ... right Oakridgecat ? Go cry me a River . I guess we should of thrown Mark Packer and his crew out , right ? Well , on second thought ..... maybe You're right !!!

I have tremendous respect for Kingsport DB , we do share something In common , and that would be Coach Ted Wilson !! Coach Wilson was my head coach , and he , along with Coach Don Story , and Coach Lynn Brown were a great coaching staff that took us to the State Championship all 3 years I was there , winning 2 of them . Maryville's great tradition didn't start with Coach Quarles , but he has done an AWESOME job of carrying on the winning tradition started by these great men before him . Like the coaches I had , Coach Quarles Is a about a lot more than winning , It's about having Class , and teaching these young men lessons that they will carry with them the rest of their lives . I know this may not be one of DB's best teams , but Maryville has a lot of youth playing this year too , so let's enjoy this new start of what I hope becomes one of the greatest rivalries in the State!!

BTW , for anyone letting scrimmage games shape their opinions about this game , last year Maryville played Oak Ridge about even in a scrimmage , and then Alcoa beat Oak Ridge by 80 or 90 points ..... then Maryville beat Alcoa in the real game . A scrimmage Is about getting everyone playing time and learning .

Thats exactly right!!! A scrimmage is just that but, we were very proud of our guys in that scrimmage, Maryville is a top notch program, Top in the State. There was no disrespect to the Red Rebels and I'm sure they realize this.

Cap, Tennessee High has had a great year. They have deserved all of the hype they have gotten. I hope they win it all. With that said, you are talking alot of smack for the first time THS has beaten DB in quiet awhile. From what I understand, ya'll will be graduating alot of seniors while most of the position players return for DB.

As for the DB/Maryville game, if DB can bring the intensity they brought to the South game, I think it will be a great game. The intensity in that game was the most I've seen out of a DB team in about 2-3 years. That's what they'll need Friday night.

Wow and you say DB fans have no class? Your the Poster child for this phrase!!!! TN High has a great team this year and it's sad that a MORON like you is trying to over shadow their achievments. You have been riding DB's coat tail, why is that??? Your Tn High has done great yet, you have seem to have lost your mind. At one time you had some good accurate post and now its all crap! Get off of what ever it is your on or should I say go get on what ever it is you need. You need HELP and I'm here for you.

865Snow, I'm not really sure how to respond to that. I'm I suppose to downplay and be quiet about the success of THS because DB might beat them in the future? Believe me... I always give respect where it is due. If DB beats us next year I will give them their props as I have in the past. But in the here and now... we spanked em. And this comes after being stomped by them for the last four years. It's just part of the game... you win some you lose some. This years Vikings were picked to finish fourth in our conference this year in the preseason poles... and probably won't get much more respect at the beginning of next year. But as we have seen... every game has to be played out on the field regardless of what the poles say, or what history says, or what the future holds, or what is posted here on CoachT. We graduated 18 seniors last year... and I'm not trying to downplay the significant lose we will take this year losing 23, but we do have others in the wake. DB has TWICE the enrollment of THS and there is no doubt that they have talent coming down the pike and WILL have their day(s) in the sun in the future... but that doesn't dismiss them from their share of humble pie this year.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
