Too many people are thinking that Farragut's performance against DB was the real team.

Not so.....DB is a very good team that played well. They will be one of the top Div 6A teams. Farragut played poorly and will make adjustments against OR. Even after their loss to DB they are still ranked #6 behind #1 Maryville, #2 Bearden, #3 McMinn County,

#4 Dobyns Bennett, and #5 Bradley Central in East Tennessee from CBS Sports High School Ranking. Oak Ridge was #8 behind Ooltewah.

Where are all the Farragut faithful? Usually they would be all indigent and really telling everybody that would listen how they will tame the Mighty Wildcats!

Blade,   I know the man and the other coaches. If Rally's source is a coach, that coach has never shared that opinion with me, and certainly shouldn't be sharing it with anybody outside the coach

With the new, revamped line-up I don't have a lot of confidence in Oak Ridge scoring a lot of points. Probably just enough inexperienced mistakes to kill some drives. I hope they prove me wrong. Still, I think the Wildcats find a way to score at least one more point than Farragut.

 

Oak Ridge wins a close one.

Hate to interrupt the cute little " Cat fight " going on ..... but you should be glad Maryville hasn't been in your Classification .... there would be even more "Puddy Tat Fighting" going on right now !! :roflol:

You just oughta be glad Alcoa is not YOUR Calssification!! Maryville = win at all cost. The Largest 5A school to ever win the 4A Championship!! LOL

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
