Team's Alcoa would NOT beat this year;

Murfreesboro Oakland

Montgomery Bell Academy

Baylor

Brentwood Academy

Memphis Ridgeway...yes...Memphis Ridgeway

Ensworth

Smyrna

Jackson Northside

Whitehaven

jury still out on Liberty Magnet in Jackson

Christian Brothers

Briarcrest Christian

MUS

I can PROMISE all Alcoa fans...as much as I love the Tornadoes..(over the other Blount County schools)...if your team competed in Districts 7-AAA, 9-AAA, 11-AAA, and CERTAINLY 15 & 16 AAA...you would not be undefeated this season! It's plain...it's simple..it's obvious!...but..due to your enrollment...luckily..you'll never have to compete in those districts!...however, above is an even dozen who I'm sure would welcome a game with Alcoa anytime...if the actual school administrators feel the same as many of your Coacht posters...they should give each one a call this December. Good Luck Tornadoes!!

so now you're playing the game on paper? :thumb: Baylor and Ensworth olines and d lines would manhandle Alcoa's :thumb:

You guys are such Clowns , nobody would " Manhandle " Alcoa this year . It's really pathetic that this seems to be the specialty of DII fans ... Claiming imaginary wins . Alcoa , just like Maryville in years past has a terrible " imaginary record " . If you guys are so interested in claiming Superiority over all of Tennessee Football , then quit hiding behind your scholarships , and COME GET YOU SOME !! Funny how a bunch of Private schools can play in DI , but you guys can't .

The first move would be to do away with DI & DII, Multipliers and go to 3 classifications! :thumb:

I wouldn't be opposed to 3 classifications, but the $$$$$$ would suggest that having 8 championship games is more profitable than having just 3. Also, the "feel gooders" subscribe to the idea that having 8 groups of young men and fans being able to frolic in the uphoria of being "state champs" is better than having just 3, despite being "watered down" in the minds of football purists. You already know I'd jump all over dumping the multiplier :D , but I can't see how incorporating schools who offer financial assistance (scholarships) into the mix with everyone would maintain a level playing field.

Imaginary Games are very predictable - your favorite team wins! The team in any lower classification loses (because they can't play with the big boys). I really thought Maryville's run last year settled this ( a legitimate re-building year for Maryville).

Aside from the DII schools, many felt middle Tennessee had the toughest teams in the state, myself included. Then Riverdale came to Maryville. The Rebels beat the Warriors in every aspect of the game. I was shocked. I love my Rebels but I thought, before they played, Riverdale had the edge! Boy, was I wrong! Surely, everybody in Middle Tn picked Riverdale, I did!

I also thought Maryville would beat White Station. It just goes to show that thoughts (even my own) and games played on paper mean nothing!

Oh, by the way! That Maryville team that slaughtered Riverdale was beaten like a drum by ALCOA!!

Alcoa has plenty of open dates and they are not afraid to play anybody!! The ball is in the court of every other team in the state, DII included.

Let's just look at the 2009 season to see who the best team in the state was.

Alcoa beat Maryville 24-21.

Maryville lost to White Station 37-27

White Station lost to MUS 54-34

MUS was the best team in the state last year.

Alcoa may be the best team in the state this year, but their is nothing to back that claim up. :thumb: This is going to get exciting.

OK, I see how this works, it's simple...except in 2009 the Seahawks beat the Rams in week two 28 to 0, in week seventeen the Saints beat the Rams 28 to 23, so the Seahawks were 3+ touchdowns better than the Saints last year?

Alcoa would get drilled in these imaginary games just like Maryville used to.

I don't know if Alcoa would win against the top private schools or a team like Oakland or not. But! Those teams may not beat Alcoa either. In 2005 I laughed when Alcoa fans were saying they could beat Melrose. But! Alcoa is much better since Rankin has started coaching there. Alcoa is much tougher now. Alcoa didn't have the toughness to deal with teams like Maryville and Melrose in the John Reid days. Maryville played well but still lost to Alcoa. Alcoa is the better team.

I said this earlier this year. Not many teams can trot out a 250lbs fullback like Teharan Tyson,A duel threat quarterback in Austin Tallent,A big stud road grader in Derek Evans,A big freaky 235lbs RB/LB/DE in Darrell Warren,A big 6'4 180lbs receiver in Steven Isom and a RB who runs a 4.4 and quick as a cat in Vee Hambrick. There are other darn good players on that team also. Alcoa is freaking loaded. Next year Alcoa will still be good but they will take a huge hit this year. One of the Alcoa coaches was saying a few years ago that this senior class would be their best ever.

sorry Gerry but you are wrong Alcoa beat Maryville 42-24 without throwing a pass and completely dominated the game on both sides of the ball.
