COLUMBIA ACADEMY!? what a joke...they lost the only good player they had in Mathew Williams, lost their coach, werent even good last year...

TOP 5:

1.) Clarksville Academy

2.) Memphis West

3.) Perry County

4.) CSAS, Grace Christian,or Grace Baptist(Chatt)

5.)Humbolt or Union

Just wondering why you would have GCA in the mix, lost the best player off their team last year, without him they were terrible, what did they get in this year to be a top ten contender?Their JV didnt have much on it either, just wondering. To be four in your poll they must be impressive to you.

I would also ask the same about Grace Baptist. Significant losses from last year and their best player returning is injured. Have they got some new players?

Humboldt returns (3) three starters from last year team and a host of guys that played a lot but all those players start on the football team so they will have to play a lot of young guys early. They are adding a very good young bunch that won the state last year and should have talent for the next couple of years. Somehow Humboldt always gets better during tournament times so we shall see!

Single A is a notch above not keeping score, kinda like PE

Ouch... A little harsh right... I realize there have been years where 1A has been down (including this upcoming year), but I can think of several years where 1A has had some really good teams... Good enough to beat anyone in any classification...

I mean really what do you expect... 50 kids per class vs. 550 kids per class

Also, I would be willing to bet District 14 1A would beat up on district 1,2,4,7,8 in 2A most years...possibly district 1,2 in 3a with the exclusion of DB and SH...

Geographic location has about as much to do with competition as classification does...

We went through about a 10 year stretch in Cosby were bigger schools in our area wouldn't even schedule us, because they knew they were going to get beat and usually beat badly. Someone else said geographic area has more to do with it than size of school, and I agree with that. Places that a rich in tradition were kids grow up dreaming of being the next hometown star usually put out top notch teams.

this may be one of the most uninformed post ever posted on CoachT. I really think the top 15 teams in Single A would beat the bottom 15 teams in AAA. There have also been plenty of instances when a Single A team has moved up to Double A and competed( see CSAS during the 1997-98 season)

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
