Looking forward to coming to SP next Friday. Big win for the program last night. MC has been the underdog more often than not this year. We were underdogs the last three games, won 2 lost 1.

What does MC run? Spread I heard...You know are boys really dont like teams whose initals are MC :roflol:

I went to ya'lls game last night. Congrats on a big win. The folks were real nice there. Even the announcer gave a special welcome to couch Vic. LOL They had about as many fans at there home game that we take out on the road with us. There band is good too. I hope they all have a safe trip down here. But it will probably be a long trip home for them.

MC no longer plays smash mouth football. Blue Raiders have a new coach and they were using the spread offense. They mostly run out of it, they do not throw much. One of their best players transfered to Tullahoma before the season started.

 

They snap the ball to the QB and he runs up the middle most of the time. The coach might call it a spread but it is a glorified single wing offense which is smash mouth. I will add that their coach has done a great job and they are running an offense that they can run..

Looks like on paper South Pittsburg is at least a 35 point favorite. And the Pirates will probably win by at least that much. But the Raiders will have nothing to be ashamed of. After all, it has been almost 10 years since the Raiders have made the 2nd round playoffs, and no one would have ever thought at the start of this year they would even make the playoffs much less the 2nd round.

 

Good job Moore County coaching staff and good job Raider players.

There is more to the single wing than that. Vic and Heath Grider can explain the differences to your Coach. :roflol:

has some of the same aspects, but I do not consider MC as a smash mouth team. Different opinions are ok...good luck next year in Huntland

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
