Does anyone really care about D-2 lower division?

The fact that you'd even post something like this is just petty. Alot of people do care about DII-A football and it has great support. First off, Sewanee and Webb School are in 8 man football, as for Grace Baptist i've never even heard of them but they aren't in this divison. You're probably a parent or fan of Ensworth and i can't wait till week 1 when Knox Webb comes over to Nashville and has there way with you pretty boys. This divison is for teams that dont want to play in 3A. These are the teams that were dominating 1A every year before the multiplier was made and they were forced up. And why the heck would these schools drop football? They have succesful programs.

How do you take football at this level serious? These schools should drop football!

First off, football builds young men both mentally and physically and teaches many life skills, so there is no reason to drop a team for its level of play. As long as you get to pad up against another team their is no reason to drop anything other than your crapy, belittling, attitude. Secondly, how could you not consider Webb,ECS, and FRA serious? they all have strong teams and play-up from their divisions every year. DA and DCA are always strong too even though they dont usually play up as much. I hope Ezell upsets you preps at ensworth... ...

There are only 5 players from TN high schools on the 2011 SEC pre-season first, second or third teams. Of the five, three are first teamers. The only DII player selected on any of the preseason teams is from DII-A and was named to the first team. Looks like this D-2 lower division player takes his football seriously.

There is a place for all types of high school football. I love to watch teams like Don Bosco, DeLaSalle, Moeller, Hoover, Byrnes, etc... that play on a national stage but there is also a special place for those small high schools that participate in football. Their fans, players, cheerleaders, parents, teachers, etc... get just as excited about their game on Friday night as the top teams in the USA Today national rankings.

This is a ridiculous topic started by Jett, even if the competition isn't what it use to be. This isn't true either.

Really? You are sadly mistaken friend. Ensworth by at least 2 td's!

Look guys....This was "JETT"s 9th post of his life. Probably the 1st topic he ever started. He got really nervous thinking about what subject to start. He rationalized that slamming DII-A football was a well thought out and informative topic.

Guess he was wrong. I suggest we ignore his topic and do not respond to this immature post.

Hey Jett - go turn your xbox on and get back to what you do best!

That's a dumb topic..at the very least the struggling programs should and have considered 8-man football like Sewanee. The classification would get a lot more recognition with more teams-in particular the smaller, current Division I private schools (Boyd-Buchanan, Knoxville Grace and so on).
