Boy, this has turned into a very interesting game. I was excited about it when I saw Greeneville had the guts to put Alcoa on the schedule. That alone caused me to have more respect for the Devils.

Haha... No matter what I say, it wouldnt compare to the trash alcoa fans have been talkin the past year.

Congrats to Greeneville. I wanted to make it up to see my Tornadoes square off, but a very ill family member has caused a change in plans.

 

Alcoa is beat up bad but what Greeneville did is still impressive. Would love to see them first of this year, especially last year. This may not be the Alcoa of years past, but I expect them to join together and show they can win state in hard fought games. Can't always steamroll.

 

Good job Greeneville and heads up Alcoa, plenty of district and season left.

Fantastic win Greene Devils!!! To my Tornadoes-suck it up and make that run for the 3A Gold :thumb: That's all I'll say on this game or the others :angry:

I really have no words. I guess I assumed Alcoa could just plug the holes and move on. I had faith in my devils but j seriously thought it would be a low scoring affair. I am so proud.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
