Alcoa @ CAK

I think the wet weather and wet field is a big advantage for Alcoa and their run game vs. the pass game of CAK. Good luck to all, hope it is a great game.

Maybe, but I'll take the other side of the discussion.

Overall team speed, advantage Alcoa. The wet field tends to neutralize to some degree a speed advantage.

Slipping / footing: The CAK receivers know where they're going, the defender doesn't

Rain and the passing game: Rain historically has had very little effect on CAK; passing is what they do

If it's a downpour or 25 MPH wind, that's a different story, but a rainy night isn't too big

of a concern, at least based on history

Rain and holding on to the ball: This effects BOTH teams. Alcoa typically has few if any turnovers. Rain could

change that. I see this as no advantage to either team.

Alcoa has earned the right to be the heavy favorite against any team not named Maryville. But the game is played on the field. CAK has their work cut out for them even if they were at full strength, but I am confident that they will come in and give 100% for 4 quarters.

I like the logic. By the way, thanks for not saying 110%. Logically, you can't give 110%. Unless, you do like the government and take it from someone else.

for giving us Warrior fans a lot to cheer about over the past 4 years. You have been a big part of helping CAK establish a football identity of success and good sportsmanship. You have been humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Regardless of tonights outcome, win or lose, you can walk off that field without regrets. Hold your heads high because you deserve it. I love you all ! May God bless all of you and all the other players tonight on both teams. Hustle, Hit, Never Quit. :thumb:

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
