Yes, Gordonsville will slow SP down. They did last year didn't they? So Pitt will not face an offense again like they saw Friday night. 6'3 athletic receivers, 6'0 270 lb FB, RBs that run like deer and a QB going to big time football. If they do then they are in trouble. Gordonsville will have a much better defense and a slightly less explosive offense. That's IF SP even makes it that far. That possible game is a long way off.

i think our offense is playing bettr than last year

ur probally right we dont have any athletes up here just a bunch of country boys who play football

what's so funny is you think we are so citified. I did not say stop us I said slow us down. And oh by the way we are not running the same offense so last year doesn't really stand up or we would just say we won last year so we will win this year. Or maybe you want get that far in the playoffs

will you guys ever learn. You put yourself in the semis every year at this point of the season and you always talk up your team, to be the best ever to suit up. Then SP has to shut you up. Relax, neither of us are assured of making it that far. We don't want to even discuss big headed Gordonsville right now. We got big games to get ready for. Go back to your thread and if we both make it ........come back over here around Thanksgiving.

TPay, I didn't say Gordonsville's offense wouldn't be good. I said slightly less explosive than Signal's. Gordonsville is the team to beat in 1A.

Tigers do not know how to win the big ones. Cornbread Capitol does. Cornbread Capitol has better talent. You are one of the few that says Gordonsville is the team to beat in 1A and I don't think you really believe that.icon_e_smile.gif

Gordonsville's problem against S.Pitt will be the athletes form Pitt. Jalen Manning was the difference maker against Smith.

Johnson for South Pitt is better than Manning. He is similar size but much faster. While Manning was a difference in that game with Carthage, it also made a difference that #4 McCoy did not play. McCoy is a difference maker on Defense. If McCoy plays he and #46 Payne slow Manning down significantly. #4 and #46 for Gordonsville may be one of the best linebacker tandems in 1A. With all this said, alot of work needs to be done before Playoff Matchups are discussed. I expect South Pitt, Gordonsville and Greenback to be right there at the end and may the best team win. Good Luck to South Pitt the rest of the way.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
