I am not going to bash the kid but I have heard that he pouts if he doesn't get his way. I don't know but if this is just to get ready for college ball great because it is a different beast all together. But quitting during the season after you gave your bros your word that you would be there to ball with them sucks. I know he played round ball too and probably did need some time off so don't start something you can't finish.

Unless yous a freak......pouting ain't going to get you nothing but the traveling papers! Best these youngons learn theys need to man up and commit to the team and not jest themselves. SP fellers can name only a few that were committed to complete feuding scholarships and most of them were back-n-the day. Ain't sure how many is still playing neither..

From someone close to the situation, who will remain nameless, says that no coach will be put in place until principal gets in place. They say that the principal should be in around May 1st or so which like I have said many times could put the new coach in place toward end of May. In that scenario, I would guess the current assistants will be asked to take the men through spring drills.

To your point of a crazy situation, I agree, I too haven't seen something like this at a big time program like SP...ever!!

 

I just hope they don't cancel the Cornbread Festival. :hungry:

where is the investigative reporting? Why hasn't Mr Hargis seized oppurtunity to put school board and Mark on record and make them respond. they change principals around Jasper liketheir changing socks. the schoolboard and Mark are really dripping the bsll. Mr Hargis how about a article to put these people on notice we had enough.

As a great american ( Clint ) recently said, "If a feller ain't doing his job, you get rid of him", recon theys been a heep of waiting thru all of this mess. Time to "Getter Done"

Hey now, lets not get to "cocky" about people changing positions. Sometimes being "cocky" will come back and bite you or us in the butt. Karma is tough sometime. Everyone wants answers, but guess what? None of us really understand what this holdup seems to be, but one thing is for certain. It's not your decision of what happens so like the old "Grayhound" commercial. Just sit back shut up and leave the driving to the captains.

Well, to be honest I DO know who the coach will be, and I'm 99% sure about the principal....but, alas, it would be unethical for me to reveal this information. I CAN reveal that there will be no big surprises.

I probably should clarify that the coach shouldn't be a big surprise, but if things suddenly go in a different direction the principal will be a surprise.

Principals at MCHS since 2004/2005..Raffo, Prince, Ziegler.

Principals at SPHS since 2004/2005. Allison, Pratt, (whoever is named).

Looks like 3 each.

      A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.

      For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
