very true but when you see that even Crosby is 13-8 since 2001 against privates while only posting a 34-79 against publics during that span...it tells you some people just dont know the facts... I mean Crow you can knock us out if you want but it doesnt make it easier for yall to get deeper but maybe more difficult because now you will have SP to deal with....I tell you crow maybe we can have 72 divisions that way people can only play against the criteria their school is, that way everyone gets a medal :mrgreen:

Man I honestly didnt think our record was that bad over that span. We have been slightly better than average since about 2005!

Those facts are eating you arent they:}

Kings Academy 7-3, by the way what the score this past season:}

MTCS  2-0

Grace 2-2

Zion Christian 1-2

Mt. Juliet 1-2

Your facts are skewed! TKA has beaten us a whopping twice since 1990! Once in playing 8 man ball. Last season was their first EVER 11 man win over us. We havent played zion and mount juliet 3 times each. Pretty sure we are 0-2 against both of them. Forgot about MTCS that ones right 2-0

I have been around this program since about 1989 soooooooo. I think I know!

Score was A LOT to A little in their favor! We were playing with 14 kids most of the night and they decided last year to get good at football , went out hired a good coach and he brought 5 new recievers and a few new lineman with him. They are on the upswing GCA path to excellence now

2012 they were pitiful we beat em by 40! 2013 we were way down I know BUUTT! holy crap they had older experienced athletes all of a sudden!! HMMMMM!

I think we need to give Unaka a big shout out for their recruiting I mean yall beat them by 25 in 2012 and then got beat by 47 in 2013...that was a great job of recruiting LOL

Thats right! probably too late though. Had we beat the Grace Cheatin Academy in 08 and actually won the region on the field it may have sparked a monumental boost to our program, BUT they were cheating , they beat us by a point , and the rest is history!

Sure, or it could have had something to do with the fact that we had to try to tackle TKA's 6'3" 240 pound running back from nigeria all night. While being crackback blocked by another 6'2" 215 pound reciever. Both of which didnt play in 2012. That led to us having 16 healthy bodies to go at Unaka with. mostly back-ups too. Im sure you wouldnt understand that though since 75% of your male student body plays football and you always have at least 50 ball players. Try playing a season with 26!! a feew get hurt your screwed!

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
