BackinTN
I have already made a couple of calls to the powers that be to get Murvil and Alcoee off the bully trail. Who are these multiple county kids that you speak of and where did they go to school?? And... What about the open zones at Centennial, Page and Fairview in your own back yard?? (this from the WC web page) They will have to go D2 as well. : ( Glad to see you doing some research! The percentages at those schools are far, far below Alcoa and probably far below 5%. Those schools have a set number they can accept and that total number, if I remember the news articles correctly from a year or so ago, was around 30 to 50 students. I don't think any of the schools even came close to that many actually going to them. Those schools were only open zoned because they were under capacity, not over capacity like Alcoa is complaining about. Plus, the recruiters in Williamson County aren't nearly as well paid, experienced, and accomplished as yours.

I'm betting they turn down lots of students every year'out of zone tuition paying ones that are not good at football. Public schools all over TN offer religious studies, so Bible reading can and does happen. They raise your taxes to raise the quality of your public funded private school-that was my point to begin with.

Nice back-peddle there, sir. You can't have any grey areas...so it's all or none, open or closed and has to be for all sports. It's never gonna happen, so why complain so much...what has Murvil done to you that has you in such a twist? We can get help for you. We know......people... STARSNBARS
Brentwood stunk. No argument here. I wish we would bring in 193 tuition students. I'm betting a few of them would be some really good football players. The problem is that we have about 6 private schools within 10 miles that are sucking us dry right now. We need to up our recruiting budget to match Maryville's. How much are you guys spending? I'm not complaining and certainly not back peddling. We are just exploring some interesting thoughts that came up on this thread. It is revealing with how strongly you have responded. That is very different than Maryville where they are recruiting talent to the school using their low tuition and open zoning loopholes. Perfectly legal as far as I know, but certainly creates an unbalanced playing field. Since you are exploiting loopholes, go play with the other schools that openly recruit too.
