TigerPride23
What about West? This is a list of every school in Dekalb other than the high school: Smithville elementary: K-2 North side elementary: 3-5 Dekalb Middle: 6-8 Those are the "above the hill" schools. Under the hill has Dekalb West: K-8 Edited February 3, 2015 by TigerPride23
Antwan
Beat AAA Cookeville also who a couple nights before played Cumberland County tough. Also it should be noted that LA was winning against Smith when she went down. I refuse to believe Smith is that one dimensional.LA was winning by a whopping 3 points. With her...certainly had a chance to win. It was also a big mental blow for her to go down like that. Without her...was down by 16 at the half to Dekalb...ended up losing at home by 8. With her was up by 34 when she came out. It's not just her scoring. It's her defense...leadership and overall game. Let's see how these last few games go. They have played very hard without her. She is just one of those special players that can't be replaced. I have not said anything as to not take away from the girls that are left that are playing as hard as they can. Under the hill has Dekalb West: K-8 You have 2 middle school or Jr. high teams. SC has 6...but are divided between 2 high schools. Most New Middleton kids go to G'ville. A few Forks River kids do also. There are no zones in the county. So...in affect SC has 4 feeder schools & G'ville has 2. I think it is a disadvantage. Only a couple of them play much outside the county. They have to play county schools twice...so that takes up most of their schedule. The best kids don't face tough competition. Some have gone out and played tougher teams as Defeated & Forks River did this year. SC middle boys did last year. dilligaf
Does Hackett still get 8-AA MVP? If not, they need to do away with the award.

jimbo44
Smith Co. girls gave Upperman all they wanted. The lead changed a few times. I believe the night birds led by 3 at the start of the 4th qtr. The little Bee pt guard was hot at the FT line at the end.
DCTIGERFAN
Well MCM put it on our ladies from DC tonight. I didn't expect a win, but I can honestly say I expected it to be somewhat competitive, and thought the scoreboard would reflect that. repoman
heard last night Upperman allowed the opening tip to go to Hackett(she was dressed) she recieved it then a time out was called . and she got a standing ovation comin off the court (senior night). I just would like to say what a class act and sportmanship by Upperman and Smith . This is what it is all about folks.. Good luck to all the kids and coaches, as the season heads to the final stretch.
scatback
I was there and they waived the timeout off because of Coach McWilliams. The smith county girls played their hearts out. Class act by Upperman.
