Not passing judgment one way or the other, as I don't know what did or didn't happen, but there is an active federal (IRS) and state (Rutherford County DA) investigation still under way.  Everything I hear from folks in middle Tennessee whom I trust indicate that things are far from settled there.

Thanks HTV. I hope everything works out and all of this will go away. This is no good for anyone at all. More money and time will be spent on this than what is missing all because someone back in Middle Tennessee has their under ware tied in a knot.

I'm not saying that there is nothing to it and again those whom I trust in Murfreesboro believe it to be something much more than just somebody's underwear being tied in a knot.  It's their belief that something is going to come of the investigation. Yet to be determined is just what person or persons is/are going to be implicated when the investigation is done and charges are brought.

 I can shed some light on this.you are correct in that there IS  an active investigation going on, however the county sheriffs department did not find anything criminal in their investigation or there would have been an arrest made. Moreover by TSSAA rules the coaches do not have direct access to monies. All payments are made off of PO's that are issued and approved and  are made payable by a check signed by the treasurer. This is a volunteer organization and the coach has no access to monies, meaning at the most there is probably some poor record keeping There MIGHT { might being the operative word) be some tax violations but, but yet again that is on the shoulders of the Booster club. I can tell you for a fact no one in that organization did anything with the intent to defraud the IRS, program or otherwise.  Big hand slap maybe  but that would be about it.

With all due respect, we probably should all wait for the Paul Harvey on this one.   Until the investigation is closed and charges are/aren't filed it is all speculation at this point.  The only fact out there at this point is that both a federal and state investigation are still ongoing.

Well I hope for William Blount's sake this will all pass and go away. I would love to see this man come in and straighten out that program.
