Oak Ridge over Powell, 77-65 tonight.  D. Middleton with 18 to lead the Cats.  Another fun group to watch.

I bet Powell didn't miss 5 3 pointers all night out of about 20. Only thing that kept them close in the game I felt like. We are going to be really good later in the year. Is it just me or does Middleton have one of the softest touches down near the rim? Guy has a great touch down low. When him and Tee whip into basketball shape we will be tough to deal with.

not to sure about us having 45 from behind the arc? OR is very solid at all positions and very athletic, and like you said when those two get in basketball shape you will be even better. Cudos to OR defense Powell had way to many turnovers.

Yeah probably exaggerated a little bit there, but y'all didn't miss many!! I bet close to half your points were behind the arc.

Powell did not shoot well in the first half from 3 point land.  The barrage came in the 4th quarter, but too late to make a difference.  Our defense was the difference, especially in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Powell looked pretty gassed coming out of halftime. Tee's block in the 3rd was something to behold.  Yes, but not just Tee and Darel, as most of these guys grow up, they are going to be very good come end of the season.

Karns won I can't remember the score.

thanks Q. Heard today that CC had 25 point lead in third quarter but subbed in a lot of freshman and put Toress and Gillenwater back in the fend off Central. What's going on at central? Thought they'd be a contender this season. AC guys said Gibbs controlled game throughout. Gibbs shoots the ball awful well. I had them picked as a surprise team in our district this year so I guess well see Friday when CC travels to Gibbs. Oak ridge may have had their closest district game vs Powell this week at 12 points. I just don't see anyone else staying within 20 of them in our district.

    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
