If you like to watch good football tonight was the night.  Both teams left it on the field.  MC had an extra gear at the end and put it away.  Zeman is definitely the man.  Ya'll will have a good team next year, but it won't be Zeman good.  I hope scouts were there watching him tonight....if so he'll play on Saturdays somewhere.  Hope the Downs boy is OK....he was still pretty zonked at the end of the game.  I was on the sidelines, but not in a position to see the on side kick....didn't really matter though.  And that pick 6 by Zeman was a thing of beauty.

To me this play was the play that won the game for Marion........I thought no way he would score from 70 yards out. Harper played a heck of a game. He was qb, rb and wr. We definitely won't play a player of his caliber the rest of the playoffs.

Well...Kenyan gets to take a seat at the table with the TC Elite. That says enough. #1 for MC is knocking at the door. Will Westmoreland and crew let him in? ...may not have a choice.

I didn't get a good look at the onside kick but I saw the lateral on the KO and it was a good call. The refs were bad tonight but they were bad both ways in my opinion. Didn't quite get our play calling tonight. Maybe jitters for the OC?? Idk. Never should have kicked that FG up 22-13. Should have punched it in and put it away then. Harper was great. If TC had anybody else to help him it would have been a LOT closer. In the end I believe they just wore down. Hats off to the jackets though. Go MC!

 

(Seems like Ambassador is always dead on)

Congrats to Marion County on a great win! #1 is a GREAT player on both sides of the ball. Harper is as advertised! GREAT player! He played his tail off! The onside kick is very questionable to say the least. Would love to see the film on that on for sure. The pass was definitely a forward pass though. As bad as those refs were (for both sides) the official was in perfect position. For once that guy was looking at the field and not looking for toes to be on the line of the coaching box! That guy must have been a "get back coach" at some point in his career!

Congrats MC on a well earned victory! Good looking product out on the field tonight. Good luck next week...play as hungry as tonight and you guys should be fine.

 

Congrats to my Yellow Jackets for a great season! Overcame A LOT of obstacles this yr just to be in the position you were. Hats off to the seniors on a great career. Thanks for all the memories!! Very proud of #11...son, you make me proud!

 

I'm not too into ref bashing...not my style...but phew...mercy me! I will say how I saw things. The onside kick WAS NOT illegally touched. The kick off lateral was close..but I truly believe it was thrown in an even parallel line. I was standing along the fence right in line with #5 & #3. I saw both of them look at each other, and both adjust ever so slightly to adjust the angle. Both were huge plays that just didn't go our way. That's how it goes sometimes. We needed plays like that to have a shot. Overall, very good game. Score not indicative of the game..but props to Bass and PirateTom on your predictions. Credit where it's due..lol.

Wow , just got home from the game. MC has a good team but they can win on their own . Refs really helped them out all they could , I think a TC player got called for sneezing and didn't say excuse me . Call ; personal foul , 15 yards.

These Refs need to apply for a job with the SEC , they would fit right in with that group .

Anyway with me getting that off my chest , I hope MC wins the state championship but they really can win this thing without any help .

Oh one more thing , the three blind mice and their three blind helpers need to learn that an on side kick that goes eleven yards and not touched by the kicking team but kicking team falls on the ball , ball then belongs to the kicking team. That happen right in my line of sight . COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT ONE !!!! Score MC 25 TC 20 Ref's 16 .

      Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?

      Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
