MisterObjective
Us Golden Tornado fans are up on the pedestal. The team is humble enough. They report in on the weekend to watch film. They lift weights, beat the stuffing out of each other and run sprints on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. When Friday rolls around, they're just ready to take it out on someone else. BLACKFRIDAY
I wonder how many Peabody fans will come in a day early and support a fellow district team? Don't know how many will be at the game but several are coming up Friday. All I can say for sure is some of us will be there to support y'all. Champion1
South Pitt and Trousdale are the cream of the crop in single A. Not anymore.. Each have taken a step back.. Great programs and traditions but haven't been dominant as of late like they were in the past. This is partially due to some of the west teams finally creating programs of their own and aren't relatively new to the league like most of them were.. Also there are bigger schools in the east and less poverty areas which draws talent. Also regarding your other post everyone knows about Alcoa, Maryville, south Pitt, and trousdale if you wanna count them as east. They are great teams and programs but they are about it from the east. Just a few powerhouse teams with history or money and not a lot of competition there like in the west.
JDOGG80
If it rotates back and forth every year then the west should be visitors, WC was home in 2011, Gville in 2012 and your UC boys last year, so the east should be the home team this year.Actually we were the road team last year so we will be the home team this year
bigb31072
I respect how good your union city them is they are great but still beatable that's my point I did not mean to come off as insulting to union city fans I just get tired of hearing it's already over before it gets started cause coalfield hasn't seen anything like them. We'll I've seen way better teams that got beat by teams not as good as they were it can happen. Now coalfield may get stomped but that will be determined Friday not today cause union city is just that great. Not beatable in 1A.
jellyroll62
Well your buddy said that CF should stay home Friday and send someone to pick up the Silver ball. Those are strong words coming from someone who is in basketball season. Of course it's going to spark a fire with the cf fans. I'm a neutral fan and I seen the irony in BigDaves post. That's just my input. Listen I don't know BigDave , never seen him at a game. He might say he likes Basin, but I don't know who he is. I know most if not all the others, and we have all discussed who this guy is. So I dont like anyone talking crap about our kids, or our program. So that's my input, and Jacket has had an attitude with Basin all year.
jellyroll62
And before anybody has a chance to tell me to get off your thread, I am just responding to Rudy. Go back to talking about how many points UC will pile on CF. Everybody needs a little drama mixed in with all this statistical data and predictions. TheAmbassador
I believe South Pitt has had several teams that would have beat this UC team.SP has had a few teams through the years on par with this Union City team, but none since the 2007 team. SP and Trousdale have both won a lot, but neither team has been as great lately as they once were. The teams SP and Trousdale have shown up with in Cookeville lately couldn't stay on the field with the teams they have produced from 2007 and back through the 90's. kazam37
Hey Bass......so your a politician......great, that essentially makes my point. I can't think of a more "noble" public service than that other than maybe a garbage man, but that would be doing the trash guy a disservice. If you knew me, you'd know my pants don't get in a wad....I ain't got a single reason to come on here and show Coalfield any support since they have long been our natural rival. (Oneida) I believe you did express several times in the MC-GCA site that others making predictions of a score (41-20 and 35-14).....that their prediction was "about right". My guess is that meant that is how you thought that match-up would play out in your opinion. Otherwise, you wouldn't have expressed support of that prediction? As I said, you were a little off in your spread. About Stewart......he is one kid among 10 other players. There is only so much he is going to be able to do in this game.....he is a kid, although a sizable one, just like the other players around him. I'd expect him to do more than his fair share Friday. Teams have found the best way to neutrulize him on defense is simply to run the majority of plays away from him, and double him on pass plays. Pretty simple and effective strategy.....and it doesn't take a good coach very long to figure it out. He is not a natural defender but somehow he has managed 14 sacks and 24 tackles for a loss (not bad for a slow kid). I met him after our game against them and he seems to be a tremendously humble kid......I liked that sense of humility in a young man. UC should win this game because they have better personnel around Jernigan, who like Stewart can't do it all. I think too much reflection was given to just a piece of the puzzle and not the whole. Kevin38
SP has had a few teams through the years on par with this Union City team, but none since the 2007 team. Would love to see this UC team play that 2007 SP or 2005 TC team. That would make for some good football.....
