Knoxvul
Nathan Cottrell was from Halls and ended up playing for West. I won't lie, smart move on his part!
MSURacer
2001 and 2002 Hillsboro were two of the toughest and most athletic teams I have ever seen that failed to win a state title. My old friend and roommate from college had a younger brother who played on both of those teams. We went and watched them several times both years. Speed all over the dang place. I remember a game against Hillwood I think it was. Can't remember which year, but Hillwood got the ball first and had a net loss of nearly 40 yards on the first possession. Most of the game went like that. I remember thinking to myself "I wonder if this is some kinda state record for negative yardage". Anyway, they lost to Maryville in the title game 34-27 in '01 and then 29-26 in '02. Those were their only losses both years. Ended up winning it all the next year in '03, but my friend's brother had already graduated so I didn't get to see them that year to make a comparison. cow451
Not in '71. Milan is definitely from the west and the trophy looks good in the case as you walk in the front doors of the school. My bad. Thanx for the correction!
