Private-public split will be bad for high school football

Then the LC AD is a bigger hypocrite than I gave him credit for.

You're right. Lewis and CPA are pretty much the same school. Lewis will probably go over to the private school league. So many kids wait in line to attend the prestigious LEWIS COUNTY. Hohenwald Is the Beverly Hills of the South. Can't believe they lose kids to Ensworth, CPA, MBA or BA.

School board policy contradicts itself when discussing out of county students as it states they must have one parent/guardian that lives within the school district.

If the TSSAA addresses open zone schools you will see many schools go closed zone.

You are correct. But the policy also eludes to the fact that this can be avoided if approved by the Director of Schools. I don't think that that Lewis Co is a magnet for bringing in students by any means. But they don't have a leg to stand on if they want to start a beef about open zone schools.

And the problem with that is....

....is that Alcoa (and all other open zoned schools) can pull students from the exact same "zone" as private schools yet privates are critized for having athletes "from all over the place".  It's a double standard but we can't expect anything more from an organization that is only represented by public schools.

Let's hope these public school reps put their moeny where their mouth is and vote for a complete spilt.  It would obviously be best for privates for this to happen.
