Coach, that was an interesting article. Based upon what I have read from other CPA posters, most if not all of the FB team has been there at least through middle school, most since K5. If this is true then either CPA must be lucky or they are doing a better job than anyone else in getting 110% of the talent out of the kids. The interesting observation going forward will be how all the CPA kids compete in college. Will they continue to develop or did they peak in HS.

With all that they have going for them in the other areas, the bottom line is they have good, talented players for HS, which over the years certain CPA posters want to attribute success to everything BUT.  It is not like CPA football is going out there week after week facing opponents consistently more talented.  Of course there are those who understand this including Coach Martin:

"God has a whole lot to do with kids being D-I players — a lot more than coaches," CPA coach Ingle Martin said. "I can’t make a kid tall enough or fast enough…â€

Good question. The top players I've seen come out of CPA that go to college all have the size and speed needed for the next level. I think their HS coaching will only help them adjust quicker. I do think if you take a chance on recruiting a CPA player that isn't physically dominant, then you run the risk of getting a kid that peaked in HS

That's wasn't a insult trust me. You keep saying slick stuff and when people check u on it you play the victim. You felt that your more than that comment was cool. I feel me calling u stupid was cool. Thanks for the good luck tho.

No it was an insult. Anytime you call someone a name it is an insult. Especially when they did not do that to you.

And for my comment being "slick". It was my honest opinion. If someone giving their honest opinion is "saying slick stuff" then so be it.

But not playing anything. You did throw out an insult for no reason and I called you out on it. I will continue to call out you and anyone else that feels they need to demean or belittle someone on these message boards instead of having intelligent conversation. That is all I am going to say about it. I'll leave the last word to you. You can throw out another insult if you like or you can take the high road. I guess we will see which one you do.

And for the record.... the poster that said you sound stupid. He was in the wrong as well.

It's all fun and games don't take it personal! Yea u right it's your opinion I disagree strongly but it's yours I respect that. For that poster who called me stupid he good didn't bother me one bit. So thanks for the good luck post.

Has anyone seen both play in person. box scores don't always tell the full story. I have heard good and bad things about both. CPA by 21 is a reach according to people close to both programs...

I have seen both and I would give CPA the nod on this one. PC has talent though but CPA has talent and makes very few mistakes.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
