Best Teams in Class AA

What happened in the Maplewood/East Nashville game last night? And kudos to Smith County for a quality win over Livingston Academy.

Hard fought rivalry game. Close pretty much entire game. Really could have gone either way. Maplewood is the third best team in the district behind EN and PC so they are no slouch. Big call with two minutes to go. EN had taken the lead and started to build so momentum. Maplewood had ball and EN trapped along the side. Someone called a timeout for Maplewood and red stopped play. Maplewood was out of timeouts. Head coach said she didn't call it and was bailed out. Momentum went back to maplewood and they closed it out. Great game. These two could see each other again.

With upperman, CC, and EN all losing do you think there will be any shake up in the polls. I think upperman probably stays but the other two fall a bit. Hard not to put westmoreland above CC and for EN not to fall a couple spots.

Who cares about the polls. I'm sure there will be a shakeup. Upperman and McMinn both won at home in their two games. CC and Westmoreland both won at home. They're all quality teams. East and P-C went to OT. They're all right there together, though it does appear that Upperman and McMinn could be the cream of the crop. Time will tell. Quality of play in AA is better across the state than in recent years. There's more parity, though there's not one clear-cut favorite. But nobody saw MLK winning it two years ago, nor East Nashville making its run last year. Maybe it will be another surprise this season. Good luck to all.

Polls are just interesting to look at and make some comparisons. I like the Coacht SOS poll. But you are right on all the teams being pretty even. Should make for an exciting tournament time.

Pearl-Cohn or East Nashville for me. 10AA has produced back-to-back AA champs. (2015-MLK; 2016-East Nash.) These two teams have a good chance to make a deep run in Class AA
