buledievlpdrie
About 9AA not getting at least one region win. I don't think this district has had many or any other then Cheatham County getting a couple.... Hard to say or tell whoever wins the district tournament I would say has a really good chance to win a region game unless the champion is a big upset. Guess we will find out decently early about that since White House Heritage usually plays a regional opponent or two before district play. And looking at White House Schedule they play Hume Fogg, MLK, and Maplewood in their first 7 games. So I will comment either agreeing or obviously disagreeing once those games are played . bigchief
looking a little far ahead aint ya? Since you popped your head up, who do you see in the region tourny? You gotta come better than the two sentences above. Maplewood has Mr. Basketball Bo Hodges back as well as 6 of top 8 players Stratford has 6'8" sophomore eligible now as well as a couple other new faces. Whites Creek has Rout and several others back from State Semis team Pearl Cohn has more athletes than all of 9AA combined. East Nashville is always tough. MLK will be well coached Hume Fogg and Lipscomb just don't have the athletes to compete in 10AA.
ksgovols
Meh. Cheatham's 'historical success' is recent. 9AA recent. In the old 11AA days, where I think at least 2 of these teams are headed after this season, the Cubs weren't quite as strong. You don't reload unless the kids behind Douglass and Goode are getting schollies too. I see them trending downward after a very nice run. The runs don't last forever in our county. Harpeth won the 'county championship' in football this year for the first time in awhile. I kind of agree with the guy from 10AA. Until some region games are won and 9AA teams get to state every now and then, then it's hard to prove him wrong. Same on the 11AA side with 12AA. Proof is in the pudding. Those 2 districts have not competed that well at the region level, much less state. Harpeth and Cheatham's football region travels less than the baseball and basketball districts. Not sure Sycamore can say the same. I don't see the current 9AA staying the same after the DII schools leave the public ranks. There's 3 AA schools as close to or closer to Harpeth than Ashland City which is Harpeth's closest 9AA opponent. Fairview, East Hickman and Creek Wood and Montgomery Central and Hickman County are only 30-40 minutes away. I think the districts will go back close to what they were before and with CPA leaving 12AA, some teams with better TSSAA Board representation might slide back into 12AA (ahem.....Lewis County). I could see Sycamore sticking in 9AA. Wouldn't be the first time that the Cheatham County schools were in different districts. One cycle, all 3 were in different football districts. The other part of the equation is that right now Harpeth is 3 or 4 schools away from being class A. They still might opt to play up because of the travel involved to play A ball. Shakeups coming for sure. Good luck during basketball everybody. Edited October 27, 2016 by ksgovols

Might be the funniest post I have seen on here in a while (until i go read 9AAA and mjhoops posts haha) considering they were 1-3 against the 2nd and 3rd place team from this district last year and an East Robertson Loss ........and losing literally their only good player in Utley..... almost losing all credibility of all statements with this one 49er come on now .... bonitaAPPLEBUM
9AA is irrelevant this year past district play. All 9AA teams will lose their region games this season. I would have to disagree with that statement. We all know basketball is a tournament sport anyways, so records don't even matter when these teams play each other. And while yes they do have the better athletes in the other region, I don't remember athleticism being able to shoot or play a different style of basketball. All you'd really need a zone you can rebound out of and a good shooting night and you could get away with competing with half of that district right now. While I do agree the top three teams are far better than any team in 9AA, to say that NO team couldn't win is a bit extreme. Plus a lot can change between now and January. Looking forward to the season.

Basketballwiz
Who else is ready for basketball!? I watched most of the teams play during the summer, 2 teams really stood out to me. Greenbrier and WhiteHouse, Greenbrier has struggled the last couple years with a combined 6 wins. They seemed to have found a lost chemistry. I think that they have a shot at the number one spot. White House is also a very good team. Even though they have lost the main player, they have very good young players that can shoot. I think they could take the top spot also. Should be a good year!
