Don't know why he would think he ran for 150 on us that year,must be confused with the Gville game I guess???

If he had got 150 yards in the Gordonsville game, the Pirates would have been playing y'all in the semi's and not GV.

He didn't run for 150 against them either I don't believe. We had some really bad turnovers that made the game a blowout.

Not naming any names but I think there were 2 or 3 muffed punts.

We didn't run the WingT. We were primarily side saddle sing wing from 1969-1992. Coach Grider did let SP change it up a little at times in 1984 though.

That's what I meant. That side saddle was fun to play against

He did have a 98 yard TD run against jasper that seemed like it took for ever with an escort of blockers but it turned out he had a hairline fracture in his femur.

Happy Thanksgiving folks. I'm very thankful for the men and women in uniform that give all to keep our nation safe. Roy I went down by the field today and those boys were having a cornhole tournament not practicing football. That's a bunch of mess.

Phil Beene's teams ran it as well.

I know one team who didn't,at least on Dec 5 1987 any how.Richland!We watched film on that single wing and knew every thing they could run.We whipped them boys good.We could a score 60 points on them but coach wanted all the boys to know what it felt like to play in the Championship game.We did get to go back in when Richland got inside the 10 and they never punched it in! Practicing on thanksgiving is a very cool thing for these kids and they will remember it for their rest of their lives. Hey SP fans, what kinds of plays and formations does a team like SP practice on thanksgiving? That question is only for the sake of seeing how they differ from other schools. 😬
