I haven't posted in a while just because I get frustrated with our fans sometimes and the amount of spoiled fans that we have in our fan base and I don't wanna talk much more about that lol.. now for the game I have said a lot about this Whitwell team over the season. And wasn't buying your hype. They continue to show that they mean business, and I now have more respect for them after the Trousdale and Polk wins which were huge for them, in terms of the program history and also for the community because they now have something to really get behind and support. They know they have a shot to compete with everyone on the schedule. SP is a little bit different animal than Whitwell has seen all year and I think everyone knows that. Including Whitwell. They will come prepared to play. Sp has one of the fastest and grittiest defenses I've seen in orange in black in a long time. Hale and Russell anchor the D Line in my opinion and play very physical and nasty. LBs are very athletic and close on the ball fast, DBs are playing very well and do an great job of finding the ball in the air and making a play on it. I think Whitwell can compete this year. And make it a close game. And them winning the game is very possible. But SP is absolutely owning everyone they play and have already shown that State rankings mean nothing by whipping the #1 team in 2A. :) Will the tigers get stage fright, put their tail between their legs and let big brother whip up on them again? Or do they step up and gain the respect they want? I got the Pirates by 21. With a late score to seal the deal.

While talkin to 2former tigers yesterday one thing is evident. This team doesn’t want to compete they are coming to win and to make south pitt an example for the whole state to be put on notice. now while I was talkin to these fellers from the last semifinal team they was drawin comparisons. One feller said this tiger team has an advantage over pitt in every category including coaching. said they just pin them ears back and come at ya on d. I’m not sayin those tigers gonna win but they got in them minds of there they gonna come down and plant a big black and red w flag in the middle of the p after the game

Come on now South Pittsburg fans.   Making up fake names to try and rile up your own fan base is WAYYY beneath you.   This BS was somewhat believable until you went too far with the Coaching advantage.   Nice try though.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
