Did #78 Graduate from lastvyrs team?

I saw your team play.   If you don’t have so many dropped passes in The AC Game it’s a much closer game

#78 was a junior on last years roster. Hopefully Coach Shad will read this and get some soft hands toughened up before the season starts.

That's true. The Govs have had the potential to score on just about any team the past couple of years. The problem has been defense. The Govs havent been able to slow down anyone. WB was by far the worst defense in 6A in 2017. And judging by what I saw in a spring scrimmage against South Doyle, that hasnt changed. The Govs gave up 42 points in a game-like scrimmage at South Doyle. That is bad enought... The thing that makes it scarier is how the clock pretty much ran the whole time. How bad would it have been if they consistently stopped the clock for first downs, scores, and dropped passes? South Doyle could have scored 80 on the Govs and they would have done it without their two D1 studs who were on the sideline in street clothes. That is how bad the Govs defense is!

I sure that has NOTHING to do with the same 11-12 kids being on the field for 48 minutes.....

The word of the day at william blount is july. After reading theguvna's spring game report on the T sdotcup called schad and asked schad why did july about the defense being better this year?

It seems the Govs struggled against Bearden again. I dont think they scored, at least I havent been able to find any information about them scoring.

I saw where Shad said "we are a run first team." If that's the case the line will really need to step up more than they have in recent years. I cant remember the last time the Govs were able to run the ball consistently.

Guvna,

I've gotta tell you, I respect your loyalty to that program. Lord knows they haven't given you much to cheer about since 07-08. In my opinion, I believe WB goes 3-7 this year w/ wins vs. LC, Heritage, and Stone Memorial. Lenoir City will be close, but I think WB can do enough to win. I'm hearing Heritage lost some baseball players who were key contributors last year, and I believe that will give you the edge in that one. Stone Memorial is hot garbage. Therefore, you will see some improvement, but not enough to get what you deserve for your loyalty.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
